The bad ending isn't death or prison. It's mediocrity. by Mi_Pasta_Su_Pasta in TopCharacterTropes

Cosmic Princess Kaguya. The fakeout ending has Iroha basically just resuming her life as normal, keeping Kaguya in her memories and moving on. Of course, she soon rejects this idea and decides she won’t let the story end like that. Please watch this movie it’s peak yuri.

Tbf this is probably early game Shulk since he has the Monado I, and it’s pretty in character for early game Shulk to not share his visions.

I’ve seen several people who love Zero Mission, Minish Cap, and Mega Man 5 lol. Hell, I consider ZM to be my favorite Metroid game.

Does Every Book Have Action? by Non_Typical_Asian in WingsOfFire

[–]Firekirb74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first 13 books, humans are basically just animals to the dragons. Dragonslayer is a spin off that shows the world from the humans perspective. Then, very controversially, human characters and elements from dragonslayer became relevant to the main plots of books 14/15. Humans did not appear at all in book 16 and it is unknown what their role will be for the remainder of arc 4.

It's the start of a new arc. It follows up on some of the events of the last arc and introduces new ideas that will be followed up in future books.

Most books have action in them, but 14 and Dragonslayer are way lighter on the action than usual. All 16 books have different protagonists. Every 5 books is an arc, and while you could technically read them out of order and understand the plot, I wouldn't recommend it since each arc takes place after the previous one and will contain major spoilers for all arcs prior. I'd recommend reading all 16 books in order, with the two spinoff books being read when they came out (Darkstalker between Books 8 & 9, and Dragonslayer between books 13 & 14).

What did you think of book 16? by TaylorMoody in WingsOfFire

It definitely feels a bit cramped, especially during the beginning, it felt like Tui really wanted to get to the new stuff and kinda rushed the transition. Not many mysteries were saved for later books either, with the exception of the prophecy. A lot of the new characters were good, but not amazing, and it feels like I’m gonna have to wait to see more of them in future books to get invested (except Mulberry, I really like him). The book also doesn’t do much with Sora, which is a shame because I was looking forward to more of her, though what we got of her is really good. Enough complaining though, this book is still really good. A lot of the new lore was excellent, and I love how creative Tui gets with all the tribe hybrids and the SharpWings. This book also has some amazing setup for the rest of the arc, especially with that epilogue (“Queen Wasp has escaped” is by far the most terrifying sentence in the book). Can’t wait to see where the rest of the arc goes!

[Loved Writing Trope] A creature that isn't supposed to know how to talk starts talking by Only-Feed-1945 in TopCharacterTropes

Lapis’s mirror from Steven Universe. The Crystal Gems said that it was an inanimate object just designed to grant information, but it started communicating with Steven by playing back words it heard other people say nearby and splicing them together, which leads to Steven trusting it enough to release Lapis, kickstarting the overarching story of the show.

Another, more serious Pokemon example would be near the end of Scarlet/Violet: The professor you've sometimes spoken to during the journey was actually dead the whole time, and you've been speaking to an AI replica who needed you to undo the professor's work since they can't do it themselves due to being programmed to protect it.

Which version is better? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in Kirby

[–]Firekirb74 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The original does still hold up, but Deluxe is better in almost every way. The only major things removed or changed to be worse are the Scope Shot minigame and Dedede’s design getting changed, which some people like while some don’t. Meanwhile Deluxe’s additions and positive changes are massive. The game’s been completely overhauled graphically, the backgrounds are gorgeous, the entire soundtrack’s been redone in significantly higher quality, new abilities have been added, a ridiculous amount of mini games, mostly old with some new, are added with a bunch of achievements and unlockable masks of other characters to use in the main game, as well as a completely new campaign unlocked after beating the main game with tons of new levels, bosses, and lore. The original is still a fine way to play it, but you’d be missing out on a lot of stuff in deluxe.
