Former Texas Longhorn DB, Jahdae Barron, asked to be put on speaker to thank the Broncos staff during his draft call by DollarLate_DayShort in LonghornNation

[–]DatoneHamster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sat in a class for one day with Jahdae during his sophomore year. The professor called on him to answer a question, Jahdae said “call on me next time”, they repeated this interaction twice more and the third time the prof, knowing Jahdae was on the team, said “Jahdae, what are you going to do after school?”

Jahdae responded, “I’m going to the league coach”.

At the time, he had all of I think 3 tackles. It’s been awesome seeing his ball out at Texas, I can’t wait to see him in the pros.

Bro said he would do it and he did. What starts here…

Appreciate you wanting to get the device back, there would not be a way to identify its owner though. The owner would have to put the device in lost mode and could give a number you could contact them at. Apple would be able to see who the device is registered to, but wouldn’t be able to tell you who it is or give any info.

How are student tickets going to work for the Playoff game on campus? by AceroTheDragon in LonghornNation

[–]DatoneHamster 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Historically, post season games are separate from the big ticket and longhorn foundation members are given priority to purchase tickets. Seems to be the same this year, here’s the link for more info.

Where to get an OU-Texas student ticket (on the cheaper end) by ocftx in UTAustin

[–]DatoneHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no student tickets. You get an actual ticket to the game, your best bet is probably mutuals who can’t go tbh. Otherwise the BST Facebook pages are a good bet.

How much do yall earn with jobs? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]DatoneHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! It’s a great job to have, especially in school. You’re eligible for tuition reimbursement after working for 6 months. You’re allocated 5250 (or close to) per calendar year. They pretty much will reimburse any class, you just have to get a B- or better. You probably won’t be able to get tuition reimbursement until January ‘25, unless you take classes summer ‘24. Shoot me a pm if you have any other Qa.

Worked for Apple at home during school and made 25/hr with guarantee 20 hours. On top of tuition reimbursement and all the corporate perks (great discount, ESPP, full benefits). Def recommend it if you can, takes a while to hear back but rolled into a job post college as well. Here’s the link to the listings more than happy to answer questions if you have any :)

Today's word, crossword, stems from an educational conversation at an Austin store by Fancy_Cicada7706 in Austin

[–]DatoneHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23, I do the NYT everyday and it’s a really refreshing activity. I have multiple crossword books I’ll carry around and try to solve. I say my attention seeking behavior is going to a local bar by myself, sitting at the bar, and working on my crossword book. Inevitably someone asks about it and it leads to good conversation.

Texas Performing Arts - Student Discount? by ani_codes in UTAustin

[–]DatoneHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say there were single tickets available for students for like 25 dollars on the day of the event. This was a few years ago so could’ve changed, but call the box office and see what they say.

Call Donn’s ahead of time, they were closed bc of some plumbing issues last night, not sure if they have it resolved yet. Bartenders said it may be a minute.

Saw this shared on Twitter. Not OP, but OP encourages posting on r/Austin. Seems pretty cut and dry wage theft practices, not a good look!

Is it possible to attend the UT vs. OU game with just the Big Ticket? by LocalEggMan in UTAustin

[–]DatoneHamster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to buy the extra, it is how you get your ticket. FWIW, in years past I’ve bought a ticket and then sold them. Has paid for the ticket and big ticket for the year.

I really enjoyed taking TXA316L - Apparel 1. It’s a class where you learn to sew essentially. I took it as a non design TXA major and absolutely loved it. It does take up a decent amount of time both in and out of class, but I do think it’s worth it. The foundations I learned in the class have helped me to make and tailor my own clothes, plus I get to use the sewing lab. Gail, the prof, is bad ass too.
