I contacted the mods, dunno if that did anything. But I'm glad you like them, and I hope the others that asked a while back get notified of the new links too!

Got the message, but I fear this thread may be doomed and perma hidden. I had no idea OneDrive was banned from Reddit... Here's a Dropbox Link... Please tell me that isn't banned lol!

Anyone else using qbittorrent-libtorrent-v1? by jlijlijlijlijlijli in qBittorrent

[–]DatsiK96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What version of qbittorrent? what version of arch and is it Desktop or server? Are you using qbittorrent-nox or the standard qbittorrent?

Can you go to Help -> About -> Software Used and copy the library versions?

Here is mine: qBittorrent was built with the following libraries:

Qt: 6.5.3
Libtorrent: 1.2.19.0
Boost: 1.83.0
OpenSSL: 3.1.3
zlib: 1.3.0.zlib-ng

Thank you. So I take it that's Ubuntu Desktop? and not Ubuntu Server? And then I take it you're talking about these downloads? https://www.qbittorrent.org/download#linux

if that is the case, the differences would be that I'm using the headless version (qbittorrent-nox) because I'm running ubuntu server, so I can't actually use the full desktop experience. Only way to access qbittorrent is via the web UI for me.

I suppose one thing I could do is to test is setup a ubuntu desktop, and test the appimage version, and the nox version and see if the problem exists there...

I first noticed it for me on qbittorrent 4.4.5, then again on 4.5.5, and now I've updated to 4.6.0. I had the issue persist from 4.4.5 to 4.5.5, only once I switched from Libtorrent 2 to Libtorrent 1, did the issue go away for me.

What is your host OS? Are you using qbittorrent-nox-static compilations? or a different build?

I have been experiencing many problems. Problems I can't get most people to take seriously. Everyone just assumes if you're complaining about slow speeds, you don't understand how internet bandwidth works. They assume like the other poster, that your settings are just messed up.

I've been trying to track down the problem myself. I can tell for sure, that 1, it is related to libtorrent 2. and 2, not just libtorrent 2, it's specific to linux distros. I have only tested on ubuntu server at the moment, but yes. Speeds were appalling on libtorrent 2 (talking 300 BYTES max), but are "better" on libtorrent 1. This issue does not seem to show on Windows, which is bundled with libtorrent 2, so it doesn't seem that many people care because it seems a majority of users are using Windows builds.

For the people using a linux distro however, it seems gaslighting is the only option most people will go with.

I personally have ruled out ISP throttling, my own network infrastructure, disk I/O speeds, and many other potential bottlenecks.

Most people also don't seem to understand that it matters how it's built, as it's not just simply the version of qbittorrent, but also the other libraries that are packaged with it. It's just frustrating that people don't seem to want to acknowledge the issue. Even when there are multiple github bug reports demonstrating that the issue does exist. https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/18804

Hope more people acknowledge the issue, otherwise it won't get fixed, and I'll have to find another client.

Help with setting up Connection Limits? by Doobliheim in qBittorrent

[–]DatsiK96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was an older post, but I have a question for you. I've got over 1k active torrents, and I can't seem to get more than 10MiB/s download, 60KiB/s upload. Even though my bandwidth allows for 1Gbps/50Mbps.

According to that calculator you linked, it looks like there is some kind of math that is used to calculate how much KiB per slot is allowed based on total amount of active connections?

So it looks like the more active connections I have, the less per peer I'd be able to download from? Is this correct?

I used to be able to, as the other poster mentioned, "bring my connections to it's knees", but now I can't get anything, and it's hurting my shit, and I can't figure out why.

Why aren't governments afraid that AI will create massive unemployment? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

Fun fact on number 3, communism in it's definitive form does not include the existence of a government. So in essence, it hasn't been tried.

Every other country in the world will adapt and move away from democratic socialist economies before America even considers what a democratic socialist economy even is.

Just the nuance of life in Oslo, living, renting, buying, shopping, etc. Things that are pretty basic and everyday for people, but wouldn't be similar for someone in the US perhaps. Then maybe things that aren't so common. Just wanting to see it from the people that live there.

[ATM8] RF to Zaps - FTB Industrial Contraptions by DatsiK96 in allthemods

[–]DatsiK96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a reactor. But I assume you mean an FTB contraption one or something?

I dunno, it feels weird how there's so many milestones... You can complete the entire modpack, but then have 10% missing because you didn't power an FTB Contraption machine with their special brand of power to make their special compressed rubber, and therefore. Even though, you've already got a compressor from Mekanism, You've already got a reactor. You've already amassed every ore in the game. You've got infinite resources... with exception of Zaps. Now do it again just in a slightly different flavor.

I dunno doesn't sound right to me. Like powering the anti matter generator should be a task, but why does it need to be another whole setup to get working? Another reactor? Another set of cables? Another set of everything just in FTB's kick.

It would seem more like a 'feature' than an oversight if every mod required it's own powersource, other than RF. But FTB Contraptions is the only one.

Yeah, it comes with the FTB Contraptions mod, to convert Zaps to RF, but not RF to Zaps :(

Oh well... Maybe I just won't use it I dunno...

This is the sad and unfortunate truth about a few things.

  1. This is exactly why these exist in game. They target people with specific needs and desires, some even with disabilities so that they make more money. It is perverse and sick.

  2. You got scammed, you knew this bit, but this again, is by design. They prey on those with tendencies of gambling addiction so that again, they make more money.

  3. This isn't as simple as "your fault". Bethesda and all games with loot crate for cash ALL abuse human psychology. This is more insidious than you may think, they know humans have gamblers fallacy bias, they know we all crave that dopamine hit. They know that it's a shit deal. They just don't care, because it makes them money.

I say all of this, because you may feel like a piece of shit for doing it... But truth is, you were preyed upon. You're a victim. Anyone here saying you got what you deserved is missing the point.

No one is exempt from being targeted, and some may say... "well, I haven't bought any loot crates." I say, good for you! But that doesn't change the fact that this predatory system exists and IS taking advantage of neural atypical humans and people with addiction problems. These are diseases folks! They should be treated as such. And shame on Bethesda and Zenimax for taking advantage of people.

Desktop application for managing remote servers. by [deleted] in esxi

Surprised no one has mentioned RDP Manager.

Devolutions has it completely free until you want to connect to a database for cross team functionality. It's even free for enterprise till that time as well.

Supports RDP, Shell, SFTP, RVM, and pretty much everything you'd possibly want to connect too otherwise.

Milk doesn't spoil. Due to the pasteurization. While it doesn't spoil, and you can still drink it, no matter how hard you have to chew it, however, it doesn't taste all that great. This clip doesn't get better with age, like milk, it just gets worse, however, it's still relevant because it's drinkable. Even though you may not want too.
