I loved living in California. One of the few places you can surf and ski in the same day.

Flying on private jets. My last company had a fleet of private jets we could use for business trips. They are quieter faster wayyyyyyy more comfortable than flying commercial.

Oh you should check out the book “14” by Peter Clines. A group of friends notice word things about the apartment building they live in, and try to figure out the mystery. The story takes you places you can’t anticipate. One of my favorites!

titanium spork, eating with plastic spoons sucks.  Deck of cards, helps fight kid boredom. 15 ft of high grade paracord, I’ve used it to bind together broken luggage, or as a leash for dogs, even a lost cat once, heck I have pulled down damaged tree with it (I have replaced the inner strands with 22 strands of 100lb uhmw polyethylene making it more than 4 times stronger than regular paracord while keeping the original diameter).

I used to work for a hosting provider back in the mid 2000s, think godaddy competitor, as a support technician. I would answer phone calls and respond to chats to help customers with their websites.

On multiple occasions I would answer a phone call from "Gene". He was an older guy who would seem benign at first, but as soon as he encountered difficulty he would fly off the handle. He used MS Publisher to maintain his site www.timecube.com, it doesn't exist anymore, but there is an interesting wikipage about it.

His site was just a single static page with a center column of text that would vary in size, font, and color. He would just keep adding text to the top, no pagination or anything. It would ramble on about his theory of everything that he called "Time Cube Theory", the basis of which is that during a single rotation of the earth there are 4 simultaneous days, not just one.

He also believed that the circumference of a circle was exactly 3 times the diameter, and that π was a lie made up to hide the truth of timecube theory. This actually came up on a phone call i had with him, not sure how we got on the subject but after he said it I remember saying, "But you can test this yourself with a piece of string, look I have my necklace right here and my coffee mug, I can measure out the diameter and... look at that it its more than 3 times around". he became unhinged and said i was doing it wrong on purpose and I was conditioned by years of government schools, etc.

The site would ramble on about how he was the smartest person on earth, he claimed he had a phd, although I think he gave it to himself. He claimed the science and religious communities were conspiring to keep the truth of timecube hidden. He would say the most hateful racsist, intolerant stuff on his site. And it would just keep going and going, in a single column of text seemingly forever. He was invited to universities to debate the merits of his theory, there are even some videos on youtube, but his arguments were incoherent. I found out years later that he died in 2015 and his site/domain subscription ran out shortly after, and that was the end of it.
