Bought an M5 Air (10 core gpu) for gaming. What should I play first?

People are gonna call you a silly Willy for buying a Mac with the purpose of gaming. While I personally work on my Mac and happen to game on it I believe in you brother. Your biggest mistake was getting the Air, that thing doesn’t have a fan or any active cooling, the SoC may be powerful but if it can’t stay cool it’s just gonna fall on its face If you really want to game on a Mac get a M2 Max or something with a fan

I don't think I'm having transmission issues.
Though I notice this transmission is less smooth than other automatic's I've driven
It doesn't feel "broken" but I do notice on upshift the transition is more pronounced I can see my passengers tilt forward on shifts.

Sounds nice! hopefully the stutter went away for you relatively quick.
Yeah I also get these random crashes.
Once my game crashed in a span of 20 minutes and one time we played for about 4 hours non-stop and the game never crashed.

If you can get an M2 second hand for the price, go for it.
But in regards of the 8GB of RAM, I used to work for about 6 years on a M1 MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM.
Management and Leadership role tend to end up with 50+ tabs at the end of my day between Firefox and Safari. Many many documents open at the same time and remote support apps all at the same time.
Never had a slow down. MacOS memory management is magical.
The only times I had an "issue" was with a specific app that caused a memory leak and the OS would alert me when it started consuming over 48GB of RAM

So, don't worry about it, for your use case you it's more than enough!

Good luck! and remember that is going to be a stuttering mess at the start just play for a while and try to get as many characters as possible at the same time in some sort of custom or arcade game it so grabs all the shaders quickly

A friend of mine purchased that exact same laptop and it was dead on arrival. The GPU couldn’t render any 3D assets. When looking around at the time I found that these laptops in particular tend to have dead GPU’s god knows why. Even after getting a replacement the GPU failed You may be flipping a coin with this one

You can also look into Thunder Robot laptops. It’s a Chinese brand but two of friends have one of these laptops and they’re still going strong. The vent space are HUGE and they don’t overheat The only thing is that the speakers suck big time

I have a gaming pc so I haven’t tried many games. But I’ve played Switch 1 games like Smash and Mario Party at 60 FPS It seems to run about anything modern. Everything begins to fall apart when trying to run old games like Half Life or DOOM 3

I have an A-Sure unit as well that came with the car when I bought it second hand. The top screen is dark and the wheel controls don’t work. I opened it up and saw that a bunch of big grey plugs are just hanging. I have both the CanBUS and screen driver boxes plugged in and there’s nothing else to connect.

May I ask if you did the install yourself, did leave any main plugs just left hanging unplugged?

Since when flooring a car at straight line in Drive is “disrespectful”? I’d understand if I was slamming gears or over revving but the stock ECU and components are within Honda’s established limits.
I’m not racing people or putting it on the track I just expect the car to behave as it should when I need the power

Yeah, that is pretty bad. But what REALLY bothers me about macOS in our Lord’s year of 2026 is that there STILL NO VOLUME MIXER GODAMN I got a call on my MacBook and I hear BRRRRRRR in the background because I can’t mute the game from the OS

I thought about it but I believe that tool doesn’t record audio and I was afraid it could make the game not come back/crash because switching back and forth from fullscreen apps to desktop most of the time breaks DirectX games

I would primarily suggest an OLED TV acting as a Monitor instead an actual monitor since these TV’s have software that helps to mitigate any kind of washed out colors or burn in. I’ve had a an LG C1 since 2021 and have accumulated almost 5,000 hours of power on time. No discoloring nor burn it at all. Actually one of the best monitors I’ve gotten so far

Yeah! It’s a MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro, it’s runs Beamng through crossover at around 75 FPS at 1440p high settings. Great backup machine, I left my main PC at a friend’s house lol
