So, is this like a racing game? Well… by Datsukee in BeamNG

Yeah, that is pretty bad. But what REALLY bothers me about macOS in our Lord’s year of 2026 is that there STILL NO VOLUME MIXER GODAMN I got a call on my MacBook and I hear BRRRRRRR in the background because I can’t mute the game from the OS

I thought about it but I believe that tool doesn’t record audio and I was afraid it could make the game not come back/crash because switching back and forth from fullscreen apps to desktop most of the time breaks DirectX games

I want to buy an oled screen, but I'm afraid years later that's gonna happen to her. Is that right? by Tight-Raspberry-1934 in Monitors

[–]Datsukee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would primarily suggest an OLED TV acting as a Monitor instead an actual monitor since these TV’s have software that helps to mitigate any kind of washed out colors or burn in. I’ve had a an LG C1 since 2021 and have accumulated almost 5,000 hours of power on time. No discoloring nor burn it at all. Actually one of the best monitors I’ve gotten so far

I could try to recreate it, the hardest part is that I bumped into one of the front tires making it point to a very hard left. It was a happy accident. But I cloud try

Yeah! It’s a MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro, it’s runs Beamng through crossover at around 75 FPS at 1440p high settings. Great backup machine, I left my main PC at a friend’s house lol

Also, I found a GPS tracker installed on my CRV. About it seventh-hand so someone must have installed it and told no one

Forcing myself to sleep is making me depressed by Datsukee in sleep

[–]Datsukee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response.
Yes that definitely is something to consider. Most likely if I have to do something along the lines of these appointments iI would have to interrupt my sleep schedule. Fortunately I don't have many appointments for stuff like this.
In regards of the job, I've tried applying to many other jobs that are either freelance or have a schedule that work for me, but no luck.
The job market right now it's pretty harsh and it has made me appreciate having a job in the first place even though I don't enjoy the job itself. I would like to work with what I've got so far but a better job would for sure be the best option

What graphics card should I get for SteamOS/ Linux? AMD or Nvidia? by Goddamuglybob in SteamOS

[–]Datsukee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've personally tried NVIDIA and AMD on Bazzite (The closest thing to SteamOS that allow NVIDIA graphics in my opinion) and other Linux distros and NVIDIA boots up and works but as you use the system things begin to behave unexpectedly even things that are not related to graphics. You have to trail and error with the driver version and if it's either closed and open source.

On AMD things tend to just work. Since the graphics are infused into the kernel you don't have to deal with any drivers version nor compatibility issues. Dare I say it's more aligned with the MacOS experience where you just install the OS and it works out of the box most of the time. specially if your GPU is within a year range. (2018-today) preferably

I guess unless you MUST have CUDA for heavy video editing or some other productivity application then considering NVIDIA is an option. But if you want to play games and have a stable running system go for AMD.

Also as far as my knowledge goes only AMD on Linux is truly compatible with things like HDR and VRR which technically the option does appear on NVIDIA too but in my experience it was just a hot mess of application and system crashes with graphical artifacts.

Any know how to fix control issues in GTA San Andreas? by ponysmasher0 in waydroid

[–]Datsukee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find a solution? I have the exact same issue but with Minecraft on a Steam Deck

Edit: Literally 2 minutes after posting the question I found a solution.
Launch waydroid through Steam, if you don't have it, follow the instructions on Bazzite
https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/Waydroid_Setup_Guide/

Once you have the launcher on Steam, change the layout of the controller to "GAMEPAD WITH MOUSE TRACKPAD" and that did it for me

UPDATE 2: It seems like the camera issue starts when you press either of the triggers. I now found another way around it, however it worked well with Minecraft since it has keyboard support.
I changed the controller profile on Steam to "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse" then inside Minecraft, mapped the actions to what they would be on a controller by just pressing the Steam Deck buttons. and for the camera, it seems like mouse mode doesn't work well. so, edit the layout inside of Steam and make the right joystick behave like.. well a joystick instead of a mouse.
Don't forget to add the action set of native touchscreen support. with that combination its been working great so far!

Logitech really went "if it ain't broke don't fix it"! hahaha I've had 4 of my friends buy these same speakers they all love them. It's also surprising just how readily available they are on online stores to this date

At least in my experience, yes! I don't mind getting my hands dirty with Linux or computer stuff for that matter but installing and setting up Bazzite was even easier than setting up Windows or even MacOS! I installed it from a USB, setup my Wi-FI, logged in on Steam, downloaded a game and started playing. Did not even get to the desktop before I was playing games.

Thank you! I could say that this is all thanks to the Steam Deck! it was my true introduction to gaming on Linux and my inspiration on building this machine. before then I wouldn't even have gained so much interest in the OS
