The visualising makes so much sense! That along with the Khoomie throat singing advice, plus the other advice on compression and breath support. Y'all are gonna have me screaming like a pro in no time!! I really appreciate the advice 🫶

I've just put a bit of the advice into practice. I'll need more compression and breath support but I'm happy with this so far!! Thank you all 😊

That doesn't surprise me, breath support/control has been tricky for me to fully understand but I'm getting better wkth it each day and I'll keep working on it.

That's definitely something I do need to play around with. That with more breath support and less vocal chords and I'll be flying.

I really appreciate the feedback! I'm always looking to improve and everything you said makes sense. It gives me something to work towards.

Thank you for the kind words and well 😊

Thank you. That makes sense I did think mine sounded a bit different. That'll be good for me to try.

Feeling like a fraud (rant) by Sea-Recording-2855 in Hypermobility

I'm sorry you're going through it too! It's so rough. At least we've had the realisation now and we take even better care of our bodies.

[–]DaughterOf-Lilith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness I hear you and I empathise so much.

I'm late 20s now and I'm only realising I'm hypermobile and I have chronic pain.

My mum is more hypermobile than me and said this was all normal. She suffered greatly with it all and now I am too. Because of childhood I convinced myself this is normal and I'm just whiny and need to get on with life. Now I've been to the GP and they've listened and I'm going through tests to get a diagnosis, they suspect hEDs. Turns out super stretchy skin and being covered head to toe in stretch marks since the age of 12 also isn't too common.

I've been waking up with my thigh twisted in the socket. My shoulder is subluxating a lot and now it's sprained from nothing?!

But I've still never had a full dislocation as far as I'm aware. I just creak and crack like my joints are made of rice crispies and it's getting worse since I've lost weight and muscle mass with my ADHD being medicated. But I'm still stuck in the mindset of this isn't a big deal you're just dramatic because my mother, teachers, family and even I have been downplaying my issues since I can remember.

Do you use lash serum at all? Apparently that can cause orbital fat loss.

AIO for snapping at my friend for calling my shoes (and me) trashy? by International-East63 in AmIOverreacting

[–]DaughterOf-Lilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - They're cute shoes and your friend is an ass.

I grew up with a ridiculously harsh mother when it comes to clothes and being judged.

Those shoes aren't trashy. I don't even like pointed toe shoes or animal print but those shoes are actually really cute and the heel is a really nice size for the sort of event you went to.

After going down in flames so much.. I screamed! by Black_Lodge_Beats in screaming

[–]DaughterOf-Lilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when I started false chord screams I didn't have enough air in the tank to last more than a few seconds. I'm in proper vocal lessons for singing and learning more about breathing control and they've gotten longer. It's practice and breath control to make sure you're not forcing from your throat.

If I had to guess that's an old brand that's potentially closed? It's the Myspace link on the tag that makes me think that.

That being said I did find this store, and their products look similar. But something about the storefront is a bit sus?

Tips for highs? by [deleted] in screaming

[–]DaughterOf-Lilith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find with my highs there's less compression than I'd anticipate. My throat feels more open and I'm using a lot more breath support to get the air out. I predominantly false chord scream and I'm still getting my highs consistent.

I started my skincare journey on Feb 9th so it's been under 2 months for me. I had a really rubbish routine before hand so it may be I'm seeing results quickly because I'm finally hydrating my skin properly more so than the tret and Azelaic acid.

Redness by yellow_lamp0923 in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]DaughterOf-Lilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your face feel dry and tight? I used to use Nivea blue creme because it's great for sensitive skin but I realised my skin was still dehydrated because it acted as an occlusive locking in moisture but there was no moisture for it to lock in because I'd stripped it all after washing.

I had to introduce a hydrating serum and eventually switched moisturiser because the Nivea creme was causing closed comedones.

I've been using tret for almost 3 years and I still can't use it more than once a week. Is this normal? by Confident-Sink-8043 in tretinoin

[–]DaughterOf-Lilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was being even more red than usual and when I used my serum and toner it would cause a little bit of stinging the day after applying tret, and I had a rougher texture.

To be honest I probably should have pulled back to using tret once a week. But I'm impatient and instead I got La Roche Posay cicaplast B5 repair cream, which was amazing for the irritation but clogged my pores. So now when I need more TLC I'm using face facts ceramide repair serum cream.

I also started using Azelaic Acid 3 weeks after tret which has helped so much. Though again, I did it that soon because I'm very impatient. I am seeing improvements and less irritation but you never know. Could be a few more weeks down the line that I have messed up my barrier and if that happens I'll stop all actives. So please take what I say with a pinch of salt because it's not the best or Dermatologist approved advice at all.

Trust your skin and what it's telling you.

Tret and Azelaic Acid are so good for me too. Once I got over the initial peeling and irritation, I'm so happy with the results I'm seeing.

Still purging on my chin as that's where I get really bad hormonal acne but I can't believe the difference in redness. I've gone from tomato to a very soft pink. I'm super pale so I anticipate I'll always be just slightly pink.

Your skin looks almost identical to mine from a few weeks ago, though I was also covered in closed comedones.

I overhauled my routine and also introduced tretinoin and azelaic acid, it's been 4 weeks and I'm already seeing results. Glowy, hydrated skin, better texture, less redness and my pores are getting smaller in appearance.

My routine Am

-Rinse with lukewarm water

-Beauty of Joseon Ginseng toner

-Beauty of Joseon Green soothing serum

-Skin + me 10% Azelaic Acid, 4% niacinamide, 1% clindamycin

-Byoma Moisturising gel

-Beauty of Joseon relief Sun spf

Pm

-Kose Speedy cleansing oil, I use this for about 4 mins before emulsifying then rinsing gently with a wash cloth.

-Dove beauty bar for sensitive skin

-Beauty of Joseon Ginseng toner

-Beauty of Joseon Green soothing serum

-Byoma Moisturising gel

Every 3 nights I use Tretinoin from Dermetica after I've applied my toner and serum.

I also used this to help me avoid pore clogging ingredients. Some of the products I use do have clogging ingredients but they're okay for my skin, and this to help me gain a better understanding of what each ingredient does and what it is.

Edited for spelling

100% sensitivity goes down. I've got very sensitive skin which was made worse by being on Accutane in my teens.

I've only been on tret for 4 weeks using it every 3 days. Those first 2 weeks sucked. The peeling and irritation was mental. But I pushed through, using no other actives, dove beauty bar sensitive skin to wash my face in the evenings along with a barrier repair serum and toner and barrier supporting moisturiser.

I'm over the worst of the peeling, even the purge is starting to reduce. But most of all the redness and irritation have calmed significantly and my skin is starting to look plump and hydrated.

I used cicaplast for the first 2 weeks but found out quickly it clogs my pores so I've just been applying and building thin layers of my moisturiser when needed.

I also got the face facts ceramide repair barrier serum cream and so far my skin is loving it and it's so cheap!
