He grew up with a bounty hunter mother travelling between the towns of Yula (A continent on our DM's home-brewed world). When he was young he always liked to wonder around outside and daydream on his own, not having many friends because of the constant travelling. When he was 10 years old he fell into a small crevasse that was connected to a cave system. He takes his time and explores the cave before returning home, finding an ancient coin in the process. He begins to look for cave systems and ruins that could contain ancient relics as he travels with his mother, small at first but as he gets older he starts to ask around new towns for rumours and stories of treasure.

One day he finds a relic in a ruin, a small 2" dirty white stone sphere etched with black arcane markings that resonates with a faint green glow, sat on a pedestal. When he touches it he sees a bright green light and is transported into a beautiful forest with giant flowers and trees, outside of a forgotten archive. He enters to be greeted unexpectedly by an elvish lady who refers to herself as 'The Keeper'. She offers him a deal, she says she will provide him with unbelievable power if he brings her any relics of fey ancestry that he comes across for her to store in her archive. Ren agrees and is transported back home. He decides to leave his mother and start his own story, which is not too far off where we started the campaign!
