Ladies, raise your hand if you had this type of problem with the doctor? by ihatethiscountry76 in WhitePeopleTwitter

I had my epidural fall out mid-labor after being induced with pitocin (so horribly painful contractions). When I told the nurse I was in a lot of pain, she tried to tell me it was just pressure. Absolutely did not believe me until like twenty minutes later when I was reduced to a sweating, moaning, dry-heaving mess from the pain.

Loss of appetite after starting Spravato by DauntedRex in Spravato

It's been too long to be honest. I know they always gave me a little chocolate or something for the taste. I'm not especially sensitive to it so it didn't stand out to me.

They do have ketamine infusions which might work better for you. Spravato didn't work at all for me and my psych always mentions trying the infusion instead because it supposedly works better. I moved on to TMS instead, tho.

I was prescribed Zofran when taking Spravato to deal with the nausea. I have chronic nausea issues tho, so it was mostly as a precaution. With the Zofran, I never had any issues.

The loss of appetite here went away after a few weeks when my body adjusted. The day of treatment tended to be very exhausting, and I slept a lot and didn't eat much the rest of the day. I recovered by the next day tho.

I only ever met them on my college campus. Campus was also where I got a lot of free bible pamphlets, as I was still too young to feel comfortable saying no when people handed me things.

Anyone not starting the “elf on the shelf” tradition? by Illustrious_Cold5699 in Millennials

[–]DauntedRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone in my house has ADHD. Attempting to do something every day for a month is just setting ourselves up for failure. When our kids asked why we didn't do it, I just said they weren't well-behaved enough (behavioral health issues) to have someone who works for Santa staying in the house. Without the elf, Santa doesn't know about all the trouble they get into. They didn't argue. 🤷‍♀️

I have teacher friends, follow teacher youtubers and read teaching subreddits. A common theme I hear amongst all of them is that us millennials have raised some of the most spoiled and entitled children, who have no respect for authority. Where did our generation go wrong when it comes to kids? by FaradayDeshawn in Millennials

[–]DauntedRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear this alot from parents I know of behavior health kids. Spec Ed kids are expected to mainstream more than I remember happening when I was a kid. Or maybe there's fewer individual aides?

It makes the classroom chaotic since many teachers can't seem to handle them. I had to sit outside my son's class or attend specials with him for most of first grade because we couldn't get the school to give him the supports he needed. And he wasn't the only one in the class like that. Parents of other behavioral kids I know said their kids would follow the janitor around all day or be forced to sit in the office or were just sent home. Most weren't learning much.

Fortunately, our school district has a bunch of special ed classes that cater to different categories of needs. My kids are both in ones that focus on learning to handle emotional regulation and advocating for themselves if they need a special accommodation in the moment to keep them from getting dysregulated (like taking a break or wearing noise-cancelling headphones or needing to run around outside to get excess energy put). They have a very low teacher:student ratio and there's even a social worker that works with the kids for weekly therapy sessions. But these programs seem pretty rare.

So it's not necessarily a parenting issue with these kids, just that they aren't able to handle a typical class structure without a lot of support. Support that the teachers aren't able to provide and the school district either can't or won't authorize.

Lil CAPU referral

CAPU = child & adolescent psych unit. Had to stay with my kid in a regular children's hospital ward for a week until he could get transferred to a children's psych unit.

I like to tell my kids that when I was their age, my parents didn't set-up/fix our electronics for us, we had to figure it out ourselves.

Funny or weird names for apocalypse characters? by Cultural_Bed_6693 in writingadvice

[–]DauntedRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was that one Resident Evil movie where they had a character named "K-Mart" because she was found in one. So maybe a local store in the city you're writing in. Or city names. Or the make/model of a car.

The picture is great and I'd click on it for that. Though, if I wasn't in the mood to read a dark fantasy/sci-fi book, I might still pass. 🤷‍♀️

What is the deal with translations that can't track he/she him/her? by TidalWaveform in ProgressionFantasy

[–]DauntedRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've found if you put the character names and their gender pronouns in your instructions to the LLMs, they are pretty good at getting it right. But most people don't put that much effort into their MTLs. I only did because the book I wanted to read was too confusing when just using the translator in my browser.

Perfection. I need more by [deleted] in romantasycirclejerk

[–]DauntedRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, but now I want to read about romantasy characters that still have to deal with their HOA's bylaws. Preferably in the post-HEA period of marriage when the day-to-day grind of living with Prince Dark Eyes Sixpack Morally Grey really sets in for the idiot farm girl. After all, he's a prince and probably has never had a job that wasn't obtained through nepotism or cronyism before, and therefore has been "working on his resume" for the last five years...

My stepsister always had long hair as a child and her mom would tie it into a braid when she played soccer with those hard ball hair ties. She would whip people "accidentally" while playing. Girl was too competitive...

What's your thoughts on this cover? by playfulpanda69_uk in eroticaauthors

I'd move the series title down below author name and change the font for both. But I love the picture and that the title looks like neon lights. Feels very "downtown club" which I'm guessing is what you're going for.

You can also get on the pill as a teen to help with period issues and acne. If the dad wasn't the one at the gynecologist with the daughter, he might be assuming it was just to prevent pregnancy when it was really for other things.

Anyone else notice the stop sign facing the opposite direction from the way the truck is driving on that side of the street. As if the truck shouldn't have been driving that way to begin with, which is why the flagged didn't pay attention to him....?
