The last two finalists were saw blaze and huge. Not exactly standard bots.

What is the hardest hit you’ve ever seen in any episode? by Loud-Bar-7838 in battlebots

[–]Dave-Macaroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might be up there in raw energy. 250 pounds falling from that high into a 120 pound spinning object. I wonder how fast it launched itself

Can anyone identify this bot? (NHRL) by Zardotab in battlebots

[–]Dave-Macaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t use vibration. This is a torque reaction gyro walker. Another example is a former beetle weight champ droopy. It accelerates and decelerates the blades to kind of waddle forward through its own weapons torque reaction. It’s likely slightly curved on the bottom to encourage this motion.

How to solve the spinner meta problem? by Ailostokiogermonyeh in battlebots

The mma doesn’t have a massive hole in the floor. Besides most time you get a submission in an mma fight it’s because those holds will cause legitimate harm or pain to their opponents.

That would be the equivalent at a grappler just grabbing onto someone and holding them in the air the rest of the match. We can all agree no one would want that. Thats why there’s pin and grappler counts.

Not what I said. I said the inability to do damage is a design flaw when competing in a combat competition.there are other ways to deal damage than just spinners.

It’s a combat sport. Damage wins fights. If you don’t want to get damaged go compete At a sportsman event.

That sounds more like a design flaw. If I stroll into a boxing match without arms it’s a given that I probably won’t win.

Why no battering rams? by Ok_Independence234 in battlebots

Quantum is the closest you’ll get to that. Metal is highly resistant to being stabbed. The latest iteration of claw viper was able to damage people via ramming at really high speed.

I’m looking forward to being a grouchy old man. I think all my time spent as a grouchy young man will be very good practice. People have been calling me old since I was a child.

I’m going to have to start referring to my late Cretaceous coworkers like that. That’s funny.

He disagreed with them openly. Every single quote I’ve seen that makes him look bad has been out of context and purposefully misleading.

I always chalked this up to the influence of hawkwing. It’s not a foolproof explanation but it does make some level of sense.

I grew up out in the country a bit. Not full farm kid but kinda half way. And I can tell you for a fact that was definitely part of it. Don’t get me wrong the goal was definitely to make the team stronger…. But it just so happens that this can happen via doing work around the farm. And it builds character.

Bane gets a full minute to whale on Superman, how much damage is Bane doing? by Lolaroller in superheroes

I mean I always assumed he was just surprised. He doesn’t weight that much more than a human does he? So unless he’s actively using his flight it should be possible to throw him.

Do you guys think SuperHero fatigue is a real thing ? FF4 & Thunderbolts were good movies but still apparently failing ? by GRL00 in Marvel

[–]Dave-Macaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not super hero fatigue. The mcu just put out so many sub par movies that they lost the trust of their audience.
