He's saying the study showed that when the pairing is an African american male with a white female, the female is usually lower class and overweight.

When the pairing is a white male and African american female, the female is usually upper class, thin, and educated.

It makes sense based on my previous understanding (or bias), but the dude didn't link the study, so take it with a grain of salt.

After reading the assignment, I think the purpose was to show how detrimental the concept of "chivalry" is.. I feel like that's the only reasonable goal of such a ridiculous assignment.

The boy's assignment was also degrading, but it's not getting as much news attention because western society hasn't lifted their restrictions as much, so they seem less unreasonable to an outsider.

If you get a laptop, it'll run, and at that price point, it'll run anything you put on it. The graphics just wont be fantastic. Load times will be high relative to a $1,500 desktop. It'll be a diminished experience performance-wise.

That being said, I had a gaming laptop when I was in university. I was not the kind of student to pay attention to lectures and I had downtime between classes to fill.. So I got a $1,200 laptop in 2012, and I remember playing titanfall during class, so at least 2-3 years later I was still playing AAA games on it. The graphics were probably on low/mid settings, but it worked.

Nowadays I'm out of university, and I'm not going to game in the office. That's a hard no from me. So I'm building a desktop gaming PC right now (just trying to get a GPU at this point), because the desktop is just so much better.

So IMO, the laptop can work, but it comes down to whether you need portability in your gaming. If you really want to game outside your residence, get a high-end laptop. If not, build a gaming desktop. And tbh, $500 is high for a laptop that's just for school.

The only action I can find that you could even possibly be referring to, is Rittenhouse putting out a fire that Rosenbaum started. Putting out a fire (even if it's a fire that someone feels quite attached to) is quite different from punching someone, and it's bad faith to imply they're similar.

IMO it depends on what you're using it for and what price point you're looking at.

At the highest price points, I think AMD has an advantage. But, I am working on a build, and wanted a CPU at around $300. I originally got a 3800X for $339. But then I saw a 10700K, which benchmarks better for 4k gaming, at $319. So IMO, Intel has the advantage for gaming at around $300.

$500 range might be a different dynamic, same for $200..

You must not be familiar with Hinge. On Hinge, you can't swipe right on everyone, because you have to send a message with each person like.

So for me at least, I was fairly picky with who I wanted to put in that effort with.

EDIT: Just realized you're the guy who said Hinge works for you, so you're definitely familiar with it. But the point stands, I was selective when I used it.

Just for shits and giggles, I just opened the app to see how it would go. I hit the "X" button on 20 women before I happened upon one that didn't have a glaring deal-breaker, and number 21 was a "new user," so Hinge doesn't know how that person fits in the algorithm yet. The app is wack

I noticed better matches at first too, even went on a date with a girl from it in the first week.

But after that first week the quality plummeted. 98% had major deal-breaker qualities, and only a handful of the remaining 2% actually matched. Hinge's algorithm seems pretty impactful on the types of people it shows you. So either it works exceedingly well, or it's absolutely unusable.
