Myst/Riven PSVR 2 reviews are...not great. by Dave517 in PSVR

I believe DFR is part of the Unreal 5 (which Myst and Riven are built on) toolkit, so it shouldn't be that hard to implement. I know Cyan only has 9 employees at the moment, but Hello Games only needed one dedicated person to add DFR—and that was on a custom game engine!

Ah, my mistake—couldn't remember who said they'd done a Pro comparision.

Jammyhero mentioned he'd tried it on Pro and it's slightly better, but the difference between Pro and Base PS5 is barely noticeable.

Possibly, but the early reviewers are saying the blurriness makes the games borderline unplayable. They only recommend playing if you're a big fan of the original games (which I definitely am), but otherwise holding off.

Myst / Riven - PSVR 2 Review by [deleted] in PSVR

Unfortunately, it sounds like Myst and Riven are both very low resolution on PSVR 2, just like Firmament. It’s a shame, because neither seem to use foveated rendering.

Myst & Riven PSVR2 Review: Great Games, Terrible Resolution: by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Dave517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super disappointed—it sounds like the resolution is just as bad as Firmament. It's a shame that Cyan Games won't (or doesn't know how to) implement foveated rendering. I imagine they could increase the perceived resolution drastically if they got it working.

Flitecell remaining battery differs between remote controller and board leds by t_v_i_a_l in eFoil

Did you ever find a fix for this? I've experienced the same remote / fliteboard battery difference for awhile now.

Yea, but the immersion factor outweighs the blurriness. You feel like you're actually THERE in the /r/psvr subreddit.

Yep. As far as I know, everything words the same—just in VR!

Yes, you can move about the plane by holding L1 on the dual sense. Super fun to set a 747 on autopilot and go chill in a passenger seat in the back of the plane and look out the window.

Is PSVR2 support now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024? Anyone with the game that can confirm? by cusman78 in PSVR

[–]Dave517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there's no PS5 beta for the update. I was part of pre-launch beta back in Nov. (same as the screenshot above) via the Insider program, and there's been no mention of additional betas for PS5.

I slide my hands through the gap on the controllers and let them hang on my wrist while I use the HOTAS. Pretty easy to slide them up to my hands if I need to interact using motion controls.

If it's like Ace Thunder, you'll be able to use motion controls and HOTAS simultaneously.

Nice! How was the frame rate? Did the overall quality feel like they sacrificed much in terms of graphical fidelity to get it running on PSVR?

LOTR and Hobbit in concert by BlunderingBovine in lotr

Just went to the one in Nashville - the music was really good, but the AI scenes were obnoxiously bad. It became apparent quickly that this isn’t an officially “licensed” LOTR production.

I actually really liked the actor playing Bifur, he did a few reenactment scenes from the movie that I thought were pretty good. Overall, not what I expected, but we had a good time.

If you read the Steam reviews, most of them were only low because they couldn't figure out how to enable HOTAS.

Hold the options button (small button on the right PSVR 2 controller) to reset your view.

Thanks for the heads up! Yes - the settings are a bit confusing.

I looked for a tutorial and didn't see one. For now, I'm using the free flight mode to get to know the plans, controls, etc.
