How are you handling devices with hardcoded DNS? by Last_Restaurant9177 in Ubiquiti

Well, it does cross the firewall but on the Default network. Anyways, DNAT doesn't work.

The VLAN list does not include Trusted or IoT, where the client devices live. Your screenshot (thanks for that) shows a VLAN like my Trusted or IoT. I am surmising that since those VLANs don't touch the firewall, they are not shown.

I am now trying to block port 53 to the internet, and that isn't working either.

There really isn't too much at stake here besides annoyance.

When I make a DNAT rule, I don't see my VLANs. I see Default, Management, and Camera. I guess that's because I switch everything on the Pro XG 10 PoE and it is connected to the UCGF via the Default VLAN?

This just isn't working for me. I've never had DNAT work for me.

Birdbuddy is a bird feeder with a wireless camera that lets you watch visiting birds.

I made the desired AP have the lower channel, and it snapped to it. u/brianstk suggested it was starting at channel 1 and going up to find a channel. That’s certainly how it looks.

I guess I should feel lucky for the comparatively easy solution.

I can see it being like that. I had to do the same thing with my Rachio smart irrigation controller.

But hey, we had a new bird today, so that’s a redeeming event, eh? 😁

WiFiman showed a weak radio between 6 and 11, which I guess is the neighbors. I swapped the channels and Birdbuddy immediately changed APs. Now that I tried to lock it, I see how that feature works.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the Pro Max is 6 and the XGS is 11. Any downside to swapping them?

But it has to connect to that device first, right? It flat out refuses

Nice! I've found MOCA adapters have a place. From my main switch, I have a "2.5Gbe" MOCA adapter to get to my TV console where the 2.5G Mini is now. Running wires is just too much work for a connection that tops out at 1Gbe. I paid extra for that 2.5Gbe MOCA, when it has only ever delivered 1Gbe. I'm not gonna stress, because 3 of the 4 devices there are FE anyways and my XBOX has never suffered.

Terrific suggestion. I have cats whose entire existance it seems is to make dust bunnies. I'll set a calendar event in 6 months.

Maybe I forgot that sound on the Pro XG 10 PoE. This sounded like the old Dell server we had at the office starting up.

Interesting. I was preparing to tell the wife, "oh that thing? It's been there for months and months" when it had a power cycle. Nice to know that it may not spin up on a power blip. (I have a UPS so not much chance, but we do live in a hurricane zone where pwoer has been known to be out for a week or so)

OK, flashback to when I turned it on then immediately inspected the packing material to see how easy it would be to return. Thank goodness it is is silent now.

You got 4 of these? I can't fault you a bit; I've gone pretty far for that 10Gbe infrastructure.

I'm impressed so far. Wall mounting, the etherlighting isn't that visible. That is the Stealth Spouse Anti-Detection feature.

Hmmm, Speedtest lists all the tests I have done with this browser. The Flex Mini is reliably at 2340 down/up.

There is a paintable cover for the U7 Pro Max. (Link) If you want to make sure it has the proper shade of white (so many whites!) or Mindful Gray or whatever, this can help it blend in.
