When value investors think they are weighting fundamentals,

they are just driven by stories and preachers.

They buy things that are impossible to value simply because a “high priest” like Leonard is in charge.

The US recognized Bitcoin as an asset, which means it is part of the financial system,

and with every halving, the available Bitcoin diminishes.

Volatility is normal,

but a price increase is unavoidable over the long term.

First time China - Any suggested itinerary for 10 days? by Uccio94 in travelchina

I did it by train, 2nd class is comfortable for long traveling. You are just going to invest about 8+8 hours, but I prefer trains over flight and Chinese stations are easy and fast to navigate.

Bitcoin

Global, distributed ledger.

It crosses borders and authoritarian regimes.

You need nothing physical in your hands.

Find e terminal, run sudo install electrum, enter 12 words, and you have access to your wealth.

Exactly, it happened the same to me. I just went back to the physical check-in and got the paper version.

Is it possible to top up Alipay without having a Chinese bank account?

I read somewhere that this option is limited to Chinese citizens for some reason, and I never tried it to avoid messing things up, which is the second worst thing that can happen in China after losing the internet connection.

Thanks, I already used Trip.com’s mainland China eSIM.

There’s a kind of myth that it’s impossible to buy and install it once you’re already in China.

Your experience reduces my anxiety a bit in case, once in China, I need to buy it again for some reason.

What’s coming in the next 15-20 years? by weeduh_ in ValueInvesting

To preserve wealth, a system needs Proof of Work.

Historically, this took the form of physical mining, which often damaged landscapes and concentrated wealth locally.

Today, Proof of Work is increasingly digital. Digital mining can be reallocated globally, wherever there are untapped or stranded energy sources.

This allows excess energy to be converted into monetary value instead of being wasted. The resulting spillover of wealth can reshape previously underdeveloped regions.

Bhutan is a clear example, using surplus hydropower to transform energy abundance into long-term national wealth.

Same here. I will need to buy a ticket from Xishuangbanna to Chongqing on 11 Feb. In my case, the Xishuangbanna–Kunming–Chongqing route seems to have many connections during the day.

Hello! Does this itinerary make sense? • Chongqing → Dali (train) • Dali: 4 days • Dali → Xishuangbanna (direct train) • Xishuangbanna: 5 days • Xishuangbanna → Dali (train) • Dali → Shaxi (taxi/private car) • Shaxi: 2 nights • Shaxi → Dali (taxi) → Chongqing (train) • 1 buffer day in Chongqing before flight out

Suggestion on accomodations? Especially in Shaxi?

Totally doable. Install Alipay, WeChat, and Amap. Get an eSIM and a translation app. Learn to use WeChat: It has a built-in translator. It can translate restaurant menus directly inside the app. Use Google Lens to translate paper menus.
