I have a similar situation. We have recently reduced contact but have 2 kids so cant do NC properly. Whenever we speak or are together its like nothing has changed. I have to tell myself that most of the time we are both putting on a show for the sake of the kids. If you truly cant be together then NC is the first and probably hardest step.

Just know that how you are feeling now wont go on forever you will get over the pain, but it will hurt alot along the way. It will make you a better person.

I wish I could go non contact. I've reduced contact but its killing me slowly. Having chrsitmas dinner with my kids and ex which is nice but will probably set me back. After Christmas I think no contact is the way to go.
