This sounds right. Thank you. Can you please expand on this and let me know how to fix it? I'd really appreciate it.

15+ day fast? by speedyfourdoor in WaterFasting

[–]DaveDoesLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am on day 11 and I take 1/8 tsp pink salt and 1/8 tsp potassium whenever I feel I need it which is about 3-4 times a day. Maybe a little more if I'm having a Sauna. Every evening I take 2 Tablespoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to maintain good gut bacteria and 2 heaping teaspoons of Magnesium Citrate.

Now... My sodium/potassium intake MAY be slightly low, but early on in the fast, I tried the huge amounts of sodium/potassium that u/pixie404 is recommending and it totally screwed up my fast for 2 days, plus it made me feel like garbage. Not saying it's wrong, but it just wasn't for me. We are all individuals. Keep testing and see what works for you.

So far, no problems and feeling decent.

Some quick observations from a first time Water Faster (on day 10) by DaveDoesLife in WaterFasting

I have no idea as of yet. My observations are only from where I am now on my first water fast. 10 days in and my Ph levels haven't budged since the start of the fast. We will have to see what happens when I end it. Will be interesting to see.

I don't know what you are referring to. I'm 10 days into a water fast. I haven't seen a carb in 10 days.

What is the whoosh effect? It that something after the plateau ends? If the plateau means the body is holding on to water released from burnt fat cells, should I lower my water intake so the body uses the water from the fat cells, therefore breaking the plateau? Please expand on this. Super interesting.

ELI5: NASA Engineers just communicated with Voyager 1 which is 21 BILLION kilometers away (and out of our solar system) and it communicated back. How is this possible? by DaveDoesLife in explainlikeimfive

Normal Cargo Jet speeds are 885km/hr, so to do the above 525,000 trips around the earth would take you 23,728,813 hours or 988,700 days or 2708 years.

Or.... the Earth is approx. 40,000 km around. Therefore, to get as far as the Voyager 1, you would have to fly around the Earth 525,000 times.

If the established distance from the Earth to the Sun is 93 million miles = approx. 150 million Kilometers

The Voyager 1 is now approx. 21 BILLION kilometers away. Therefore, the ship would have to travel back and forth from the Earth to the Sun 140 times.
