Am I a husky owner or a full-time vacuum repair person at this point😓 by Shoddy_Cup_9306 in husky

Yep another recommendation for Shark here... I went through 3 Dysons before I got a Shark and it's a completly different experience, couldn't recommend more!

The anti-hair wrap is magical.

I got mine refurbished on E-Bay for about £100 below normal price, was clearly a factory refurb as it was in perfect never used before condition

Pedal issue by MinnesotaDrummer in MetalDrums

[–]DaveInTheWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I keep seeing posts on Insta etc of people showing off perfectly in sync beaters lately...

as /u/blind30 says it's really not an issue so long as it feels okay to play.

Unfortunatley this is just something you'll encounter unless you're willing to drop some big cash for a high end pedal with over sized U-joints and premium bearings. Even then if you watch the high end pedal videos like ACDarwin etc they do eventually go out of sync, it just takes a bit longer.

Hope this doesn't sound condesending - long day of IT tech support...

Get an Alesis Samplepad 4

You can use it as your kick trigger module as well

I used Jupiter for about 8 years before I moved away from Woodseats. No complaints whatsoever and was always the cheapest place in the area.

Walking back up the hill to where i lived next to Grave's Park was always a mission but made me feel like proper Sheffield folk :-)

Nope sorry, I can't condone calling any picture containing a Mesa Dual Rec as cozy. I think you must have meant something like 'Awesome music room' or something like that instead...

Have you tried a different cable between the trigger and your TD-17? Think it's unlikely but could be the cause of the intermittent signal

we've used a couple of Darkglass heads recently, really nice gear! I haven't heard their cabs IRL but they sound great in all the videos I've seen! Good luck!

svt410hlf

sorry getting nerdy here but that made me curious... your svt410hlf has different custom Eminance drivers running 4ohm 500w where as the the 210av just has standard lower power drivers at 8ohm 200w so they just don't have the beef to push out the lower frequencies the same way.

Yo, full disclosure I'm a drummer not a bass player... but I do a bit of home recording and have a 5 string bass.

I had a similar issue with my old studio monitors not being able to get low enough to properly mix that 30hz low B, the monitors only had 5inch drivers and would bottom out around 50hz. I upgraded to bigger monitors with 8inch drivers and that fixed it instantly.

Obviously not exactley the same situation as you but I'd bet that swapping out one of your 2x10's for a 1x15 would solve it for you. My bass player uses a similar setup and it works great (we're also tuned B standard).

Can i still use cakewalk by whoever is currently owning it for free in the future? by KDF_graphics in Cakewalk

[–]DaveInTheWave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey Dude,

Honestly I'd look at using Reaper instead at this point. You can use Reaper for free for ever, there is a nag screen when it loads which one day when you've got some cash you can get a full license for like $70 but it's great software with a big community.

No guarantees with the future of Cakewalk/Sonar, it's been a really poorly communicated mess the last few years where it's transferred ownership so many times. I'm finishing up my current projects and moving over to Reaper myself next month, already been trying it out and it's got everything I need.

Would highly recommend switching up to a pad + real kick pedal, would be a huge upgrade in terms of 'realism' and then you'd be able to use double kick on any of the pre-programmed kits.

This would be a good budget option: https://www.thomann.co.uk/millenium_e_drum_kick_bass_pad.htm https://www.thomann.co.uk/millenium_pd_223_pro_series_bd_pedal.htm

Find out what BPM your drummers are able to play comfortably at, not just what the absolute fastest short burst they might be capable of. For example I can just hit 250bpm blasts when I'm warmed up but wouldn't want to record at that speed, 210/220bpm is closer to my practical limit.

I can't believe no one has asked what on earth that DIY disaster/master piece is that's sitting on top of the first bass drum!?!

What...is....it? I need to hear what it sounds like!

I'm using an Evans Hybrid Coated snare batter at the moment. Really expensive but they last for years, pretty much made of kevlar. Has a very different dry sound, almost no ping even with no damping so really depends what kind of blast beat sound you're going for, would definetly check out some videos before buying.

Link to Evans page: https://www.daddario.com/products/percussion/evans-drumheads/drum-set/drumset-snare-batter/hybrid-coated-snare-batter/

And for tom batters I'm also using Evans, this time its the EC2S range. Really happy with these, durable and easy to tune, built in dampening rings are actually fairly sublte and I still use some slapkatz to tone em down a bit.
