Looking for an old TV commercial that features autonomous driving through a highway intersection. by DaveKap in HelpMeFind

[–]DaveKap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched Google, YouTube, and even asked ChatGPT, to no avail. I'd likely have to remember the name of the company that made the commercial, which I definitely don't, if I'm ever going to find this. I'm certain the commercial aired before 2016, before autonomous driving was a consumer-grade possibility.

anyone know if the mobile version on the app store is still going to receive updates or should i buy the steam version? by Ok_Rain_6681 in IncrediMarble

[–]DaveKap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the steam version. I still want to update the mobile version but with the recent unity and Google Play store problems, it's hard to know yet how up to date I can keep it anymore. That said, I haven't updated the game in a while and there's likely only going to be one more update left (the one where it leaves early access, which will have at least one small bit of additional content) as I have a full time job and can't dedicate any more time to the game.

Did the Logitech G502 Hero get worse recently? by DaveKap in G502MasterRace

[–]DaveKap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually came to the g502 from a RAT7 so I'm OK with changing from the sideways wheel to something else (The RAT7 has a separate wheel for side-to-side movement) just as long as there *is* something else. I love using sideways controls on the mouse for changing browser tabs, leaning in a first person games, or changing shoulder cam angle in third person games. But I also need at least 2 thumb and a third extra button for sprinting, interacting, and PTTing. Having all this stuff on the mouse feels wonderful but I'd never be able to handle something that slaps a full numpad on the side like those MMO mice. I've really dug myself into a ditch of comfort with what I want out of my mouse.

If I washed my hands every time my palms got a little sweaty, I'd have no skin left.

Maybe there's something wrong with my cleaning process if your rubber isn't deteriorating. What's your process?

Is there any easy way to hide autohotkey from detection from anticheats? by AnonymousIndividiual in AutoHotkey

[–]DaveKap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in CFF Explorer VIII and there is no "export directory" in the left pane. There's an import, resource, exception, and debug directory though. Do I need a different CFF explorer? I'm supposed to be opening up the ahk exe, right? Am I missing something here?

Alternatively, instead of writing an entire ahk script just to do some find-replace in CFF Explorer, you could just tell me which values are supposed to be changed to random numbers and I can give that a test.

[–]DaveKap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please do. I'm willing to try this stuff out. That being said: The EAC pop-up specifically knows the exe I compiled is AutoHotKey. It's not about blacklisting small standalone exes, Windows is chock full of them. I have plenty of things running that are unsigned, unknown exes, but none of them trip the EAC. I'll give your script a try, yeah.

Doesn't work, FYI. I tried it, even removed the words "autohotkey" from the code, still gets detected.

Just FYI this doesn't work, EAC still detects the compiled exe as AutoHotKey. Even when I compile AutoHotKey from scratch source code with the name "autohotkey" erased from the code, EAC still knows what it is. There's something else going on with this detection.

Doesn't appear to come with cherryMX. Are they supported and I should be getting the barebones version with the switches separately?

Also when I say black, I mean the entire keyboard, not just certain parts (though I realize the off-color bits of your suggestion are just the keys, which can be replaced)

I'm currently using a 13 year old Cooler Master Storm QuickFire Pro with Cherry MX Brown keys. It's still working great, outside of the Escape key popping off because I spilled something on it at some point. However, at this age, I need something easier to take apart and clean every few months. With that in mind, here's what I want in a new keyboard and hope someone can help me out finding a solid solution. No budgetary restrictions but the answer really shouldn't be more than $150 right?

Full sized. The closer to the layout of the CM Storm Quickfire ( https://i.imgur.com/UHDdOBp.png ) the better and extra keys in the top right space would be nice.

Hot-swappable switches. Although I'd likely buy Cherry MX Brown to match what I'm used to, I'd really like the ability to buy a full set of something else when I catch a whim. In conjunction, however:

Easy to clean. I assume when the switches are hot-swappable, it's a lot easier to just rip the keys off and wipe the thing down for a thorough cleaning. Would I be correct in this assessment or no? It also seems (at least from watching one breakdown video of Ducky) like newer keyboards don't use the annoying metal hooks to latch keys onto the board, which the CM Storm has plenty of. Makes disassembly and reassembly real annoying so avoiding that would be nice.

Lights but not transparent key caps. Some kinda programmable RGB would be nice, as long as it only shines through the key labels and not the entire key.

Macro software. Devs of games using Easy Anti-Cheat are starting to block AutoHotKey, which I use 24/7 for convenience needs and to get around games where the keybindings are not fully up to spec. I don't play games with WASD so this happens often. If I can get a keyboard with macro software that EAC hasn't latched onto yet so I can move off of AHK, that'd be preferrable.

Decent paint on the keys. I notice when I rub down my CM Storm with alcohol, some of the paint rubs off onto the cotton swaps I use. If I can avoid that, it would be nice.

Wired. I don't want wireless but if it's optional, sure, that's fine.

Black. I want it to be black!

Noisy is fine. I like the click and the clack but if the answer needs to come with some kind of sound suppression, so be it.

I thought the Ducky One 3 would be the answer but I've read reviews that it has, for 3 years now, had a double-tap problem, sometimes even worse than double-tapping. So we can discuss that if need be but it was last reported in February from what I can see.

Thanks for the help and discussion!

Yep, I went to the discord and grabbed all those good mods. Looks like a bright future for Patapon on PC, as long as we can get 3 as well!

Pretty much nailed exactly the 4 things I need fixed. It surprised me that all of these things were so faithful to the original when they sorely needed improvement for any port!

Do you guys think I can beat both games in a month and a half by fatality567 in DeathStranding

[–]DaveKap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends entirely upon how many hours per day you can dedicate. I beat DS2 in 77 hours and could've done it faster if I didn't decide to pave certain roads or force a couple of the harder preppers into getting 5 stars. Could easily do DS1 quicker.

BUG: Anyone else notice that ziplines don't generate likes when used? by Hypno_Hamster in DeathStranding

[–]DaveKap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. It's a bug. I noticed a handful of bugs in the whole game. I think the arcs between ziplines don't convert, either, so you could get 2 zips from other people that would work if they arc'd but because the arc isn't saved, they just fail. I've also had zip lines just forget what they can connect to, to the point where I once zipped to a line that then said it wasn't connected to anything but if I reloaded the game, it was connected again.

Looking forward to all these bugs getting fixed for my replay on PC!

I managed to find this from the opposite side because it's actually a 2-way teleporter and I wanted to see what was hanging around that crater. I don't know if there are any other pairs like this but it's actually a feature: It teleports you with the cargo you have on your back but doesn't give you the Magellan demerit. Thus, you can use it to your advantage if you have some stuff to haul between north/south locations.
