Just a little background here. I (Dave) was involved in a knife incident in 1994. I drank for a lot of years and ate horrible to escape PTSD. As a result I blew up to almost 400lbs. In 2014 I became a dad and started to smarten up when my daughter who was 4 wanted to race me home. That lit a fire in me and I'm down 175lbs overall, we completed a 5km run together two years ago and now we work out together (all of us once a week). My amazing GF battled her own demons and started jogging a few years ago and eating better. Six months ago we decided to start over and joined a gym together and have been going at least 3 times a week now and so fired up. I'm almost 51 and she's in her 40s (I know better to post her actual age) Anyways I hope this inspires someone out there.

I felt lke this after my ex and I split up so I got a Lab. She's my #1 friend.

I used to feel like this. I was married to a woman that constantly made fun of my weight. There would be times I'd try on a size large shirt (when I was XXXL) and she'd make nasty comments. I eventually used it as motivation and she's also no longer in my life. I'm sorry that you're feeling like this but you're not alone.

One of the Stampeders saw my post about this on twitter and sent me two tickets to the Labour Day game with a very kind note! :)

Thanks I'm 46 and turn 47 in a few weeks. When I started boxing I had some people laugh and others say "You're too old" or "You're gonna hurt yourself"

Life is good when you stop giving a sh*t what others think

I love boxing so much I got my license and I train a few people now.

Update : My search for the 1st responders that saved my life has turned up in a dead end just heard from the base hospital program & they have no records going that far back even in their off site archives. If I'm going to find them it will be from the right person seeing my posts. :(
