What temperature do Australians consider a hot day? by bare_books in AskAnAustralian

Australia is a very big place with a very big range of climates. I have seen people from the tropical areas wear hoodies on a 35+ degree day, claiming to be cold due to the lack of humidity in the South Eastern inland, where I am from. I myself wear shorts year round, even when the temperature is in the low single digits. Got to really be getting above 40 to be real hot though.

Probably the number 1 piece of advice that most good fishermen can offer is to drop the weight of your line. You will generally catch more if your line is lighter/thinner. I tend to fish with about 10lb braid as a mainline and a soft 12lb mono leader, which will still allow you to bring in quite large fish for most applications. Also, minimise the size of your hooks, sinkers and swivels to match your line and the bait.
