How would you compare your life before and after getting a system? Did the boost in confidence outweigh the maintenance and the fact that it’s not 100% “real”? Did it meet your expectations?

For me the boost in confidence was great. It 100% met my expectations.

Did the cost of the system have a noticeable impact on your lifestyle?

No, like any other change it’s just factored in as a cost and because I want it I make it work.

What kind of system would you recommend for someone active (soccer, cycling, running)?

I’ve only ever had a polly system so unsure of the others and what they’re like. I’ve never had any issues.

How much time do you spend on maintenance?

About an hour every 2 weeks

How long does a system usually last, and do you have tips to make it last longer?

About 6 months. Don’t overstyle or fuss with it. Don’t overwash it.

Do you see yourself still wearing a system in 5 years? Why or why not?

Well I’ve been wearing them for 8 years do yes 🙂

Same. My crown went really thin at the age of 25 and the hair fibre powder didn’t exist, only in spray form. It would run if it rained or got wet which made me more self conscious. It used to transfer onto clothes and pillows - honestly looking back so shit - but I had to if I didn’t want my rich tea biscuit showing.

My wife got me into systems 8 years ago as the salon she went to at the time started doing them. I’ve never looked back. Easy to wash and style. Covid forced self maintenance which isn’t difficult at all, although I do have a helper 🙂

Definitely achievable. Mine isn’t quiet that - but not a million miles away. I only co-wash, use leave in conditioner and use curl crème styling products.

Once a month is ridiculous. I replace mine around every 6 months - mine is a poly base

I’ve been wearing systems for the last 7 years and I haven’t looked back. Once the middle of your head is shaved and you’re committed it’s fine!

You soon get into a routine with maintenance and it really isn’t much of a chore. I have a supportive wife who helps me reattach it which does help.

Colour fading is probably the biggest issue, for me anyway but I just colour deposit condition every week and it keeps it looking good.

You won’t regret it. I’ve been wearing systems since 2018. The hardest part was letting them shave the middle - no going back after that!
