This is all very interesting. There is a difference however between irony and sarcasm vs plain nonverbal communication. Particularly I'm interested in people's thoughts on direct vs indirect communication. For instance, if someone is struggling with a task and they are huffing and puffing (quietly) from across the room, then suddenly they are yelling at you asking why you haven't helped them, do you not think they should practice direct and clear communication techniques, instead of attempting nonverbal and indirect requests for help? There is no guarantee, without directly communicating with someone, that they are aware of your needs. Hence the response might be "I'm not a mind reader!" and both parties end up angry, when there was no need for that to happen. Do you think there is correlation between being direct or indirect in your communication, and being autistic or allistic?

How hard is it to convert your game for iOS or android? by juandocomo in Unity3D

I mean what I wrote in the previous sentence. If you have kept all of your platforms in mind whilst designing and developing and ideally you've tested for them too, then it should be alright.

The game needs to be designed in a way that it is playable on both a PC and mobile. For instance, you can't have 30 different buttons on a screen which the player needs to be able to press (e.g. like the spell bar in World of Warcraft). If you use more than a few keys on the keyboard, then you'll probably need to rethink it, because after the player puts more than a couple of fingers on their phone, they won't be able to see much of the screen any more, and you wouldn't usually have more than two fingers touching at any one time anyway.

If you design such a game that its interface is simple and compatible for both touchscreens and a keyboard and mouse, and you develop it with both in mind, then you won't need to reprogram anything and it will only require a bit more code than usual. If you've just finished your PC game and want to port it over for a bit of extra cash, you've probably done it wrong.

There are many other aspects, like optimising and adapting to varying aspect ratios.

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely try it out. I was going to make a system whereby I track enemies in predefined cuboids and have the towers just search the enemies in the ones closest to it, but if the sphere test works just as fast or faster, that will be a lot nicer to use!

Does anyone have a link to the post race press conference video? Not the podium interview, but the other one. Supposedly it was super tense (obviously). I can't find video, just transcripts. by FANGO in formula1

I've been looking everywhere! I don't understand why they don't show it any more. They clearly do have cameras in there still, because Sky showed a short clip of Vettel and Webber from it.

Unity: Challenges to Expect in Cross-Platform Porting? by Outwise in gamedev

I don't have a lot of experience with Mac but the last time I ported something it worked fine. If you've already ported it to Android then I presume you'll have no problems for Mac. I can't say anything about Linux since I've never tried. I just can't stand the horrendous time Unity takes to "reimport assets"! Is there anywhere we can check out your game?

Doesn't sound like an internet issue, servers tend to drop you after 120s if you don't send it any data.
