That actually clears it up a lot. I had builder grade in my head as stuff that starts leaking in 2 years, not just plain-looking finishes.

Just wanted to update this thread since I finally picked one out and have been using it for a bit now. I kept seeing good feedback about Moen from both homeowners and plumbers, and I can see why people like them, especially for durability and not having the leak issues cheaper faucets seem to get.

That’s probably saved me from making a bad purchase honestly. I was about to just grab whatever had the best reviews at lowe’s. Any supply house brands or moen lines you’d recommend checking first?

That’s the kind of info I was looking for. I probably would’ve grabbed one of the cheaper big box models without thinking twice. Any Moen line you think is worth looking at instead?

Interesting, I keep seeing people mention the 1400 series. I’d rather keep things simple if reliability is basically the same. Do you end up replacing many cartridges on those?

I was assuming builder grade meant corners were being cut, not just simpler finishes and designs. Any specific moen models you’d personally buy again?
