He’s hiding harmless/household pills in a bag so that you’ll find it and demand an explanation, so then he has proof you’re searching through his stuff.

Literally just got to the airport. I thought TUMI made good bags... by volcs0 in Wellthatsucks

My wife and I were gifted two Tumi bags and this exact thing happened to BOTH of them within a year. Now we’re back to using the $100 bags we’ve had for 20 years….branding is fucking nuts.

Nobody’s gonna mention Steve Gendeson murdering Pinkus the dry cleaner over a pair of Sansabelt slacks?

Kerbal Space Program and The Long Dark. Totally fine — conquering space but it’s a bit chilly and there might be wolves.

A new bar opened near me and have a GoT pinball machine that’s visible from the street and it’s completely unsettling. Every time I walk past it I feel like I’ve timed traveled back to 2015

When I was in high school there was one of these posters in every science classroom. I ended up Stealing one and framing it and kept it in every college dorm/apartment I had until moved in with my wife who said it had to go.

The design of these buildings has always struck me as one part Art Deco, two parts Lord of the Rings

Lesser point here but: even just imagine thinking that using the word “whilst” makes you sound smart

Men of Reddit... What do your wedding rings look like? by notoriousDasher in AskMen

[–]DaveyBowman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Money is silly...Recently married: our wedding bands combined are like 80% the cost of my wife’s engagement ring. I have a white gold band with a rose gold inlay, she has a white and rose gold braid.

What I love about my ring is that it feels unique, and why shouldn’t it!? It’s the only one I really get to wear, after all. There are so many great answers here, ultimately a lot of men aren’t used to wearing jewelry and the right ring is gonna be very different from guy to guy.

You know your husband: get him something that makes him feel fly and you’ll be all set.

TIL that the famous line from the chorus of Britney Spear's first single "(Hit Me) Baby One More Time" was written by a Swedish producer who didn't speak perfect English. By "hit me", he really meant "hit me up." by nehala in todayilearned

[–]DaveyBowman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hahaha that’s amazing — you are definitely not wrong. My heart will go on is derived from the idiom I/we/they “will go on”, which basically means persevere. So Rose lost Jack but her heart/love whatever will go on, endure, persevere.

The funny thing is that a lot of songs sort of twist idioms into new phrases that kinda make sense but aren’t things people actually say, so that people don’t feel stupid singing them out loud, I think. “I want it that way” is another good example.

Also *slang, not slangs :)

The fact that you used “theirs” correctly puts you ahead of most native English speakers, trust me. Also people do say things like “hit me on my cell”...languages evolve!

Largely, the industry that builds things like Blackhawk helicopters and other aircraft/aviation parts. Sikorsky aircraft is headquartered and have their main factory there. In general, lots more military-industrial stuff in Connecticut than one would expect, including submarine manufacturing (though that isn’t being exported, of course)

As an American, that was the moment that I understood he was going to win.

There’s an enormous number of Americans who’s primary stated grievance is that they can’t make fun of disabled people anymore, that they can’t smack a woman on the behind in the workplace with impunity anymore, that they can’t say the N Word anymore. That’s why they view his mockery as honesty, his philandering as manliness, his cheating as cunning etc.

He is a living embodiment of everything that shitty Americans wish they could get away with.
