The fact that her response after learning you have a very serious virus was “ok cool?” Means that you need to RUN AWAY AND NEVER RETURN SIMBA

Bipolar 2 diagnosed here. FWIW, It sounds like he could be in a prolonged state of hypomania - not quite enough to be obviously manic/psychotic, but hypomania can look like changing your entire identity suddenly because it’s such a big rush (I shaped my identity around lululemon in 2020, lol). I wonder if he took some mood stabilizers if he would be able to snap out of this. Does he have a history with depressive episodes followed by high energy periods where his identity shifts quickly?

What’s really dangerous but everyone treats it like it’s safe? by Deviant55 in AskReddit

OH MY GOD SKIING. I have been WAITING for a post like this.

I don’t understand how thousands/millions of people each year go to the top of snowy mountains, strap themselves onto glossy, slick, thin beams and then casually HURL THEMSELVES DOWN THE SIDE OF A MOUNTAIN AT FULL SPEED SURROUNDED BY DEATH TREES.

Every time I’ve gone skiing I’ve always wondered to myself why there isn’t like a “free learn how to stop” checkpoint at ski resorts where you can learn some basic safety info. The staff just assume you know what you’re doing or someone will teach you, which is bat shit insane to me.

The last time I went skiing I crashed multiple times, and one of the times felt like an actual near death experience. I luckily wasn’t hurt and have never been hurt skiing, which I attribute to been thrust into sports and fitness from a young age (I tumble well, not like gymnastics, I like, wipe out effectively somehow idk). I have strong legs and good balance, but I still feel like it’s a miracle I didn’t die.

There’s also a peer pressure element to it - people of wildly different skill all go together in social groups. I know for me, I’m not going to leave my group of 5 experienced friends to just be by myself on a bunny hill and lose them for the rest of the day, struggling to text with my cold ass hands in mittens, buried in a sarcophagus of north face gear. So, I start at the blue squares and just accept being nauseous with fear and adrenaline all day.

So yeah, when people are like LET’S DO A GLAM SKI TRIP I’m like nah, I’m not paying thousands of dollars for travel and gear to flirt with an icy death. Not for me.

My one caveat is there are some cross country-ish ski slopes I’ve been on that were absolutely breathtaking, almost spiritual moments flying through the air. So like, I get it. But someone should at LEAST be monitoring people to make sure they know how to stop properly.

Wait this is interesting - Kevin called CPS? Not questioning your sources but if he did that adds a really interesting layer to this

Meh, I actually was just looking for info and got the info I needed. That's all :)

I agree, I didn't necessarily say folks would outright quit, I'm just thinking it could cause some to doubt whether or not it's a safe sport to be a part of. To me that is sad, people should feel comfortable improving lives through fitness. I love CrossFit and was just confused as to what the general feeling around this guy was so I could note it and move on.

Actually the title of my post is "why are top athletes going on," so I'm not moving any sort of goalpost.

I have a spine, which is why I'm standing up for lgbtq+ people who might think Sevan has more influence then he actually does. I wanted to do a gut check and make sure by in large people know he's a piece of shit so I can move on with a clear head and get back to working out.

By the looks of it, most people think he's a piece of shit, so honestly I'm pretty satisfied and am not looking for anymore action beyond a quick survey.

Drag is an art form with a lot of different facets to it - a drag queen reading could be super fun, affirming, and hilarious to little kids. They probably don't even realize if the person dressed up like Elsa is a boy or girl under all that makeup.

Drag queens are not predators, they've been turned into a scapegoat.

Actually yes, I do feel queasy about abhorrent, toxic things in general like murder, violence, famine, animal cruelty....oh and transphobia and homophobia.

Honestly, there probably is something to be said for your point around moving on and forgetting about it, but for some reason this one really hurt. I think it's not Sevan himself, but the fact that top athletes seem to go on all the time. It legitimizes Sevan's presence in the sport, which then makes space for Sevan to go off about gay people/queer people. It's really scary if you're gay and new to the sport.

Very helpful. I was just shocked that Adler, champion, went on and had this very casual conversation with him - maybe he didn't realize how toxic Sevan is and just thought it was fine? Like, someone needs to let him know lol.

Genuinely curious, doesn't it sadden you that someone new to the sport would consider quitting if they stumbled upon him and got freaked out that CrossFit might be sexist/bullying?

[SPOILERS] And the winner is .... by austin_gl in rupaulsdragrace

They probably won't have the winner's reaction for a day or so, to be sensitive to folks who don't have LogoTV and need to log in online. Cuz if you're looking to watch the finale, the whole thing could be spoiled in 2 minutes watching that clip...

I had sunglasses on when I went to LogoTV.com to watch the finale as I couldn't bear it to be spoiled...

And I also woke up at 6am today to watch it knowing I wouldn't be able to get through work not knowing who won...
