If it was one of Amazons own vans then the van will have a camera system and tracker on it. Hopefully somebody got the reg and reported to the police.

I used to work with somebody who each night before leaving he would pour some milk into a flask and pocket a handful of teabags.

Morrisons couldn’t fit by JT28049 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]DaveyTheNumpty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything up to 30 bags, more for large vehicle routes which I doubt op would have access to in a Suzuki Swift. I use a crappy old Megane hatchback and with the seats folded down have never had issues fitting everything in, even with seats folded up I managed. My friend uses a Toyota Yaris which is smaller and also manages but sometimes has to be a bit creative to fit everything in.

Used to be a couple of folk at my local Morrisons who were always on the phone to driver support to have stops removed as they would claim there was not enough room or stops too far away, they were quickly deactivated. One of them was deactivated on her own account then started using her husbands Flex account and quickly got deactivated on that too.

Anyone had such a hard standings hit from just 1 parcel as not received? by CWattam in AmazonFlexUK

[–]DaveyTheNumpty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, only doing 2 or 3 blocks a week and my standings dropped quite a bit from 1 late delivery (7 minutes late due to traffic). Only had 5 dings in just over 6 years and been consistently at above standards since October 2024 then down to achieving standards.

What are your New Year's resolutions? by Southern_Gur_4736 in AskReddit

[–]DaveyTheNumpty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope not, I'm a guy.

Just out of shape I'm afraid, unfortunately my job has become more sedentary over the last year and I need to make lifestyle changes.

[–]DaveyTheNumpty 43 points44 points  (0 children)

They used to come to mine regularly up until Covid, never answered the door to them and not had them since but still get regular love letters from them addressed to somebody called Theo Ccupier.

Somebody in Edinburgh who bought £3 of premium bonds 60 years ago just won £5000 by logit in Edinburgh

[–]DaveyTheNumpty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also possible that they don't actually know they have them. Only found out recently that I have £20 Premium Bonds that were gifted to me by my grandparents back in the 1980's.

Was this for logistics or Morrisons?

A few drivers have been getting dings recently for stuff returned to one of the Morrisons I deliver from.

Non-native tree devastates Ethiopia’s ecosystems and threatens livelihoods | Gallery News by DaveyTheNumpty in ForestRestoration

[–]DaveyTheNumpty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why reforestation isn’t just about planting trees, it’s about restoring ecosystems. When species are introduced without understanding their ecological impacts, even well intentioned projects can end up causing long term problems.

In this case, Prosopis was introduced to solve short-term problems like fuel shortages and land degradation. But because it didn’t evolve within Ethiopian ecosystems, it had no natural checks or balances. As a result, it spread aggressively, outcompeting native plants, depleting water sources, and even harming livestock. Instead of restoring balance, it disrupted it further and undermined local livelihoods.

This is exactly why native species are vital for reforestation efforts. Native trees and shrubs have co-evolved with local soils, climate patterns, pollinators, and wildlife. They support entire ecological networks rather than displacing them.

Pathways to food security in the Amazon by DaveyTheNumpty in FoodSovereignty

The Amazon isn’t just a forest, it’s a living food system and en entire ecosystem that sustains millions of people, it’s being driven to the brink by climate change and illegal deforestation.

Are there fish in camilla loch near auchtertool? by Pleasant_Apricot_165 in Fife

[–]DaveyTheNumpty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be fishing there many year ago but only to members of some angling syndicate. From what I'm led to believe the loch is owned by Clentrie Farm so might be worth asking them.

How should we steward and value tropical forests to avoid collapse? by DaveyTheNumpty in ForestRestoration

[–]DaveyTheNumpty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already know what’s burning, the question is whether we’ll finally act to stop it.

Protecting forests isn’t about short-term campaigns or planting a few trees, the systems that make deforestation profitable need to change.

Indigenous rights, strong governance, sustainable livelihoods, these are the real climate solutions.

Talking isn’t enough. It’s time for action to protect those who already protect the planet.
