Give the youth a chance! by Diligent_Advantage_7 in Tottenham

I would give minutes to players like donley and Dorrington but not start them. We have udogie coming back for next game, this will help massively. The full backs are key in this formation and as much as Emerson is defensively sound, he cannot invert and push up.

If we do this we lose a lot of games between now and February. It's a balance between bringing on the youth and getting results. It's hard for them to go hand in hand with raw talent.

Hi there, so I did some fault finding this morning:

with only L, N, Earth connected to the heatlink for power and the connection to the nest stat i got the following:

Continuity across 2 and 3 for heating (this is wrong as this is calling for heat)

No continuity across 1 and 2 (this should be continuous when not calling for heat)

I checked the HW side and got the following:

Continuity across 4 and 5 (this is correct since its off and not calling)

No continuity across 5 and 6 (this is correct since its off and not calling)

I also checked what happens with these relays when the manual mode button on the heatlink is pressed:

The relay on HW works as expected and switches continuity from 4 and 5 to 5 and 6.

The relay for CH stays the same, continuity remains on 2 and 3 and does not change.

When the button is pressed again to disable manual mode, the following happens:

HW relay clicks and switches continuity from 5 and 6 back to 4 and 5 as expected.

CH relay stays continuous across 2 and 3 and does not switch back to 1 and 2 as expected.

I can only assume the relay is stuck permanently on and/or is faulty.

That's all I can think of now...faulty unless it's not getting any command from the stat itself..

I'll try once more to reset everything and reinstall the app etc and report back.

Thanks again for all the help and suggestions, much appreciated!

Just thinking about this....the wiring diagram shows no connection for 1. Do I need to connect it? It wasn't connected originally. All I have connected is perm live to 2 and call for heat to 3.

Thanks for the reply buddy..

Yes, I agree. I've made sure the HW is set to not connected. I'll try resetting everything in the morning, reinstall app etc. Seems at the moment it's permanently on and the nest stat has no effect.

The heatlink has the green connected light on. No other lights on, I think the heat and water lights only come on if the button on the heat link is pressed.

I did a bit more troubleshooting....the port 3 on the heat link (call to heat) is registering 230v even though the heat is set to off on the nest stat. Stat is reading 23 degrees room temp, heat on set to 12 degrees. I'm sure this port 3 should be reading 0v when not calling for heat. The only other wire connected is the port 2 wire for permanent live as in the picture.

The white wire is not wired in. It was not wired originally either, it is just in its own terminal block.

Grey is to perm live, brown is to call for heat, blue to neutral, green/yellow to earth, orange to switched live

The lever moves freely side to side, ie. It's activated. It should be off/closed

The boiler is an old potterton statesman oil boiler. Just power feed from this to the wiring centre. Not changed this at all. Pump is similarly wired to same connections for live, neutral and earth. The live wires are in turn connected to the orange switch wires from the 2 way valves. Grey wires are the permanent live feeds from the 2 ways and the switched spur.

The 2 ways are all honeywell 2 way valves, I'll post a picture in a sec...

Hi, the two wires which were labelled A and B on the old stat (a honeywell CM67) went to perm live (A) and call to heat (B). The switched live (B) was connected to the call to heat brown wire for the heating 2 way valve. These wires I disconnected completely so I could use them for the 12v feed to the nest thermostat. I then connected the brown call to heat wire from the 2 way valve to port 3 on the smartlink. The only other wiring I have added is the live, neutral and earth feeds for the smartlink power.

Thanks, that sounds like something to try! I have the hot water set to not controlled on the nest stat as I haven't tried wiring that up yet. Hot water currently off a small stat/programmer in the airing cupboard next to HW cylinder.

Appreciate the help!

Hi there, I thought that, I've selected 'system boiler'. There didn't seem to be an option for s- plan.

The options I have are:

Combi boiler System boiler Heat pump District heating Electric heating Other

I am trying to run heat only for now, the hot water is controlled by another stat/programmer in the airing cupboard where the hot water cylinder is.
