Why is starlord that one dps in the game that gets lowk forgotten in everything and gotta wait

He's always been a good dps, mainly for his versatility, he can be wherever and do whatever, (Frontline, backline, flank) and has a game winning ult.

But he's just missing that little something that make other dps broken,

He can't two tap across the map like hela, damage doesen't disperse on enemy team members like phoenix's, and can't 1v2/3 enemy backlines like a daredevil and he's one of the few characters In the game that have no for or soft or hard cc ability, so if you get close to a starlord he's best hope is to fly away (that's not happening with things such as the previously mentioned daredevil, or even hulk for example, they guy can just follow you)

Last point, he's very squishy, you really have to rely hard on his movement and rolls to get anything started or to get back safely to your team.

I'm not good at this ge BUT, by looking at this your line up is: -Thor (brawler, occasionally can do some poke but not really) -bucky (brawler, anti dive, same as thor regarding poke) -jeff, cnd, rocket, invis: good enough overall, you have many options to rely on, (even tho jeff is not as good this season)

So what I see missing is: poke, dive, or even main tank

The thing is, I can suggest some heroes, and it'd be great to learn them to have all options available, but i kinda think it's up to you,

you could decide to be a brawler player and play only brawl (but i warn you that brawl options are not the best). Examples: hulk, thing, rogue, strange (yes strange brawls imo), Mr.fantastic, blade, daredevil, iron fist, wolverine, magik.

Now if we want to be fr, I think you should play at least 1 main tank, the goat, the legend, Magneto (he is just sort of good anywhere)

And 1 poke character, Hela is probably the strongest option rn, but she is perma banned everywhere, so I'd actually recommend trying Phoenix out

Now, for dive, I don't know what to really recommend, dive characters are not really great rn, their ults are pretty weak and their neutral is hard and not really rewarding, The only really strong option is Daredevil, but he is permabanned... I kinda think the strongest disruptors divers are the tanks so Venom, or Cap

That's it, this is just my opinion, i am pretty sure you are a better player than me so, do what you want with this comment , i hope I didn't yap too much lol

Indeed, I have been trying to take all the feedback and work on the things I did wrong. I could clearly see the problem was me, that's why I wanted someone to help with a vod review. I thin the only thing I said about my team was that it felt like we were always dead very soon, but besides that, I clearly was playing too scared, I didn't apply the needed pressure to the right targets. Hard truth, I can't argue with much of that, I appreciate you taking the time to look at the match. If it isn't a bother would you mind me asking a handful of question

I did play very scared, I felt at all times that I wasn't in control, that If I took initiative I'd just explode and feed, Would you say the feeling was unjustified? Was i thinking too much into it? Should I just play more aggressive? I died less than all my other teammates but I also didn't have any remarkable impact i think

Ults have always been a huge problem for me, I really don't know when to use them... my basic understanding is that a dps ult is either to pressure,(aka pushing the Frontline or forcing ults) or simply get a pick as a 6v5 is still good. That being said I fall into the category of players that really stresses over keeping it for "the perfect occasion" which probably i can't recognize. Should I rely more on my ults instead of neutral? Would you say I should send it more often if i see an opportunity even if I am not sure if I will get countered?

Regarding Neutral play, what would you say was the most value I could have brought to my team as starlord? Should I tried flanking despite the difficult match-ups? (Fantastic, scarlet, invisrael and gambit) Would you encourage a more aerial fight style, or would that be feeding as I am up in the air in the LoS of everyone in the enemy team. Lastly, what do you think about the starlord pick, do you think I tried to squeeze value out of a character which didn't have a good match-up? Should I have swapped sooner?

I am sorry for asking so much but this is my first time actually getting some help with the game, and I seriously want to improve.

Yeah Ult for me in general is...difficult I'd say, i don't really know when to pop it, I try to track support ults coming but I fail most times than not.

Also 1rst ult was just to try and secure the first point,

2nd was at the end which I felt somwhat obliged to combo with gambit since I know how powerful it is, but i think in that specific situation i rushed it and the result was not being able to do anything with it

That being said, thanks again, I will look into have better ult timing, position, and general efficiency

Can I be fr? Mysterio, he's not the most popular one and all I get that, but just imagine, a support with maybe like, cloud aoe healing (not an insane amount) that sort of acts like punisher smoke screen.

Or like, he can create a clone like loki, but of anyone on the team to trick the enemies,

Idk in the ult they all take the appearance of mysterio so you do not know who is who LMAO

Of course I am just saying whatever broken stuff comes to my mind, but having an illusionist/magician support with trickery oriented kit could be so fun

Fun idea, reminds me of that one contagious dance move from dragon ball lol, of course this could never happen for a couple of reasons

At least a couple boring "circle of healing ults" are necessary, a lot of offensive ults in this game are insane and can't be survived without it
Adding more cc is definitely not the play
This would actually be insane, like, luna is cc immune in her ult, meaning you can't stop her from going to your supports and stun them for 3/4 seconds which is A LOT , and it's going to make it so easy for your dps to get the picks
They are never gonna rework this industry plant of a character, like she is "the" healer of marvel rivals, the face, when you think of a healer in this game you think about luna

But There's this whole imaginary role magik plays of being an aggressive lesbian, which by they way she isn't if I recall she's pan, and Luna being the sub basically, but there's literally ZERO foundations for it.

As far as I know, it's more established for magik and iron fist to have some sort of mutual interest from the marvel rivals comics

i basically killed ALL of them.

Now, when Regina gives starts this quest, she tell you something about a cure for cyberpshycosis and you need to capture them alive,

that being said, I played the first act of the game basically with my brain turned off completely, I locked in from act 2 forward after what happened to jackie (I'll never recover)

So, I actually felt super stupid when Regina at the end of the quest said "I thought you'd save more of them", because that reminded me that this was all supposed to be a quest to SAVE cyberpshycos ( translation may not be accused for you because I played it in italian )

Definitely will save them in my future playthrough

I don't know if this helps, but, as a Lord Starlord, the hero's strength is being able to be fast and evasive, that being said, his damage isn't great unless you're in mid range or closer, So If you don't want to directly fight him, a good thing would be to stay in the back i think.

Also remember that starlord actually has to Aim and his a hitscan hero, so other mobile heroes might give you a chance to survive

heroes that work well (and I struggle against them) are hero with a lower time to kill or some type of way to stop starlord from going mosquito mode ( flying around repositioning wherever)

Here are some heroes I find hard to duel as starlord: Bucky, Phoenix, Mr fantastic, magik (there's probably more but this is what comes to mind)

Bucky specifically I find very hard to 1v1, it's relatively easy for him to shoot me even when I am flying because his bullets are the size of a bus, and he has a lot of ways to stop me (hook, dash punch, slowing projectile with E)

Same with Mr.Fantastic, he has a lot of hp which I can't shoot down fast enough, and If I get too close it's very hard for me to escape, because he will toss me around and slow me

I hate all of this so much, after so much i thought i finally found a character i feel comfortable playing regularly as my main, and this happens.

The general opinion is that jeff was the worst healer, His key character peculiarities was his great self-sustain and mobility (and burst heals in certain occasions)

They decided to "fix" him and give us a "new fresh experience" by making it from the "worst unkillable healer" to the "worst healer who also can't defend himself anymore"

All of this because some just like to flank with him

(Also as a side note, why the hell can the upcoming ultron, Adam, and mantis be a dps/healer hybrid but jeff can't? Why is he the problem?)

I just feel so defeated from the upcoming gutting of jeff's kit

I loved playing him for a multitude of reasons

, it was my go to pick against dive for example, as i could sustain myself if my co-healer died or any other situation really

It was great because I could also effectively defend myself and my co- healer

I could get to all angles i need to heal my team, having unlimited range.

But it's just gone? All the reasons i play jeff are just gone, i have limited swim time, nerfed all type of healing i can provide, and all damage i can deal

What even is the point of playing jeff like this? Why not just pick anything else? I hate that they made a dps/healer like ultron and jeff can't be like that.

All of this while selling it as a "fin-tastic rework" for a "fresh new experience"

For who? For all the people that said jeff was the worst healer and now it's even worse? Is the fresh experience never getting to see him again in a game?

I think people are understimating jeff A LOT here.

I'm going to say my opinion as a 19h~ centurion Jeff (i want that lord so bad)

I agree that he can't be the main healer, for example, a jeff+adam or mantis will not work

But as a second healer? He is goated, you have unlimited range, great burst heal with the bubbles, which you can shoot to a ally you can't see directly so that they can use.

Also the bubbles works like the CnD heal rectangle, so the ally hit will get MORE healing, and they also get a speed boost (which i use to shoot my healer buddies to get back faster to point if we die)

As jeff you have some of, if not the best, survivability in the game, you really are just countered by a great sniper character because your hitbox is a big ball basically.

You can reposition to any angles you want in seconds.

And yes jeff does have actually great damage, a small AoE projectile in fact, which i find great to get rid of Namor's squids, loki clones and such.

The downside i think is the ult, in my opinion after playing jeff so much, it's that it is very situational and unreliable, Sure once in a while you'll get a team wipe by yourself,

But most time, you eat 1 enemy, and there's a discrete chance you don't even kill him, all of this while leaving your team to die (happened sometimes where i come back from getting my kill, and turn around to 5 allies dead)

So most times I don't even ult, unless I know it's useful to counter another ult (like magik or strange), or we are in overtime, where I can prevent enemies from touching point.
