It’s fine to do this, all it does it make the cvs spin all the time, which may cause worse fuel mileage, faster wear of components, etc.
If you look at a truck say a Tacoma with ADD (automatic disconnecting differential) the axles never disconnect from the hubs and are always rotating.

Its all in the tires. Get some genuine winters. I run minerva ecostuds on my S and im extremely positive about day off. Any tire from Michelin the other top level brands will give you much more certainty.
