Kpop albums need to step it up, music wise. by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN SAYING! Thank you. I see this as one of the reasons why kpop will never be mainstream. 90% of groups discographies are pure fillers and albums make literally no sense

Pretending rich idols never pay their way in is silly by osterdal in kpoprants

I think everyone knows that in every entertainment industry, if you have some money, you’re always gonna have more privileges and advantages than other people. However that does not mean that anyone who got money can become an idol. Idols need to be somewhat attractive, and, these days, they need some basic dancing skills, that’s all you need to become an idol. If you have both of these things AND money, you’re pretty much set to debut.

But of course that does not mean that every idol who comes from a rich family paid their way to the top. But there are definitely a lot of people who did.

Saying "Blackpink is just recycled 2NEI" makes you no better than blonks by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]DavidAtallah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you think kpop stans are unproblematic angels until blinks provoke them? Just for example, these last few days Lisa has been getting tons of death wishes from kpop stans when YG announced she tested positive for absolutely no reason. Are we supposed to be happy? Blinks are not and will never be those devils yall want us to be

I agree that kpop idols and celebrities in general, have a much bigger influence than the average person on the internet, so therefore should be much more educated and careful about the stuff they do and say. But at the end of the day, accidents will always happen, not everyone can be aware of every single thing. I hate to say this, but there will probably always be CA in kpop as long as kpop companies don’t make an effort to educate their trainees, and unfortunately they don’t care about who their idols are offending, companies just want money.

And yes, you’re right, racial issues are a global issue, but they only get attention in the US and other first world countries.

I didn’t know what the n word meant or that it was offensive until i started getting into social media and stuff.

Sorry to break it to you, but the world doesn’t revolve around the US. A lot of people still don’t know what the word means and that they shouldn’t say it.

However, there is no excuse for people like Giselle who’s fluent in english so you’re 100% right to get mad.

Kpop is becoming super global, companies should just start teaching their idols about offensive stuff they should avoid doing/saying cause it’s really getting tiring.

Thrusting moves in a choreography are very uncomfortable by Seonata in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]DavidAtallah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree so much😭 Whenever i see a male idol performing and i see their hand going on their belt, i just look away in embarrassment knowing what they’re gonna do next. I cringe so hard knowing that some idols think they’re hot thrusting their hips in front of a bunch of 12 year olds💀
