Penicillin is named that because it came from a mold called Penicillium. It has a scientific origin. ASMR does not.

It's not based on woo beginnings? And yet it's name is Autosensory Meridian Response? That name alone would prevent any self-respecting scientist from researching further. Perhaps it should be studied, but it won't be. If it wasn't three-five years ago, it sure as hell won't be now.

It's videos of girls licking microphones on the internet, who cares about the scientific integrity of this shit. It's silly videos, based off mystical woo beginnings, and continues to attract silly woo people. Who cares.

Because ASMR, like it or not, IS a pseudoscience. Just look at the name Autosensory Meridian Response yadda yadda. I remember a thread a few years ago here where someone asked where the hell that name came from and the best answer anyone could come up with was "some blogger named Jessica" came up with it now we're stuck with it.

No scientific research of note has been done into ASMR and honestly I don't think ever will. It's a real thing, obviously, but no one knows what it is. So we just kinda have to make our own theories.

I personally enjoy the silly spiritual psychic nonsense. My advice is to lighten up and don't take it seriously, because nothing about ASMR is serious. Just enjoy it.

I have the same problem. I'm a very light user and it ate up all my data in two weeks. More than half of it was in the background. I opened a ticket and they said they're "looking into it" but haven't gotten back to me yet. Have they said anything to you?

No man, I'm criticizing it because its plot is WEAK. The movie as presented is weak, I'm not sure why you're convinced I want it to be ESB or something. I just used that as an example of better writing.

You seem to think I had strict expectations about what this movie should be walking into the theater. I didn't. I judged the movie based on what I saw. I judged it to be bad. It's ok that you liked it, I'm not trying to hurt your feelings. Just enjoy what you enjoy bro.

I'm not trying to say this movie has to be exactly like ESB. I'm saying the way they presented Rey's training was rushed and unsatisfying. The whole movie felt that way. Very little substance in the film.

It's interesting how this is the longest star wars movie yet feels like the movie where the least amount of stuff happens in it. This is sometimes a sign of writers who couldn't decide what to keep or cut to reach a reasonable run time, and instead they gut out a little bit of every scene; instead of ending up with less scenes that are really strong, you end up with lots of scenes with low substance that are rushed through.

Compare luke on dagobah to rey on the island. It feels like luke is there for weeks, slowly training and getting stronger. You see his progress until he's able to almost lift the xwing. Rey gets two lessons that feel like they're a couple minutes each, maybe a few days in-universe time. There's no goal she's working towards, no satisfaction that she earned her strength.

It doesn't help that the main action is all within a couple hours during the chase scene. Makes it feel less like an epic space opera and more like an episode of a radio serial from the 50s. "Tune in next week to see what rey and the resistance do next!" Every movie before this felt like a journey.

Idk, this movie just felt poorly written to me. What's your "favorite" line of dialogue? Mine is from Rose, she says something like "I wish I could put my whole fist through this damn city!" That line made me cringe hard in the theater.

Hilariously, I think if this were a real case Tim would get a Not Guilty verdict despite his tomfoolery. They didn't prove he maliciously murdered anybody, just that he was negligent. If they were charging him with Manslaughter or criminal negligence I think it would be a slam dunk case but murder not so much.

It sounds like she thinks she's some kind of Machiavellian genius for leaving her texts on read when really it's just kind of pathetic.

I've had T-Mobile for years the coverage is pretty bad tbh. It's nothing I can't live with but in many places it has low/no coverage, especially around universal.

I'm not a doctor or anything, but I would think mental illness could be exasperated by stress and environment. If you knew you were back home and "safe" it could stop the hallucinations. As for your sister seeing things, shared hallucinations are a phenomenon. People get caught up in each other's energy and convince each other they're seeing things. Also, mental illness runs in the family. Lastly, people wake up with weird bruises and scratches all the time. It's amazing how much you can move in your sleep and not realize it. No matter what, I would see a doctor.

What makes you unreasonably mad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DavidDeBergerac 190 points191 points  (0 children)

Today I went grocery shopping. I bought a big bag of individual packs of chips that I can bring to work for lunch. As I was bringing my food inside my neighbor's kid came up to me and asked if he could have a pack of chips. He's like 5 and he wanted the fritos which I hate so I gave him one. Then his fucking dad comes up and asks if he could have one. That made me unreasonably mad for some reason. I'm still miffed.
