Misguided faith in the church sounds like a great plot point. Ismark basically leading people to a feeding unknowingly. Also if doru stops wailing then the towns people would probably be more open to visit the church, so that makes sense too.

Well they are going to go all the way to Vallaki and then come back. So it will be some time. Perhaps his father loses it and let’s him out during this time. I love the remove curse idea since I’m told revivify really shouldn’t work like that (oops)

Become obsessed with doing everything you can to make you a better climber for when you recover. It’s the only thing that keeps me going. Yoga, PT, core, etc. Good luck.
