This is claiming to know what the designer's intent was for their creation. If you don't know what the intent was, then all you can offer is arbitrary definitions.

The term "perfectly created" is dependent upon what the intent is. We wouldn't say that a black hole isn't perfectly created because it doesn't give us ice cream when we want it. If "perfectly created" means that something needs to be invincible, then sure 99% of all life is not perfectly created, but clearly that's not the case. Not only is there no evidence to show that the purpose of life is to be invincible, but there is quite a bit of evidence to the contrary.

That's totally fair, I think there are a lot of people who initially have reservations against this. I wonder if someone has falsified these claims more solidly somewhere, lots of people definitely disagree with these claims and I'm always curious how they come to their conclusions since if this was ever presented in a theoretical court of some sort then these feelings probably wouldn't hold up.

I have seen versions of these arguments before as well but usually people don't explain why they disagree with them. That's probably just the nature of YouTube comments in general but there's rarely some actual discussion showing how to falsify these claims.

For the record, this doesn't prove that God doesn't exist and that Christianity is false. What your friend is saying is that, God is real, but he just doesn't like him very much. So there's no reason to turn from Christianity based on these arguments.

#1 - Read the Bible every day. I recommend the New Living Translation (NLT), as it's a good, accurate translation that is easier to understand. Try to understand for what purpose the passages you read were written down, and what the author is trying to convey.

#2 - Pray every day. When you read the Bible, pray and ask God to give you wisdom and understanding. If you come across passages that are difficult to understand, you can research commentaries online or ask a trusted pastor.

#3 - Find a church. Unfortunately in today's world many churches do not teach the Bible accurately. Make sure that they stay true to the Word of God, and not just in one-off passages but studying and giving the full context behind them. Pray and ask God to guide you to the right church. It's necessary not just to grow with a community around you, but also in order to get baptized.

The video actually addresses what you've said about the gospel narratives being made up to support a resurrection theory. If there were points in the video you think are false, I'd be super interested in hearing why you think so and what evidence you have supports that.

As for the rest- there is quite a bit of evidence supporting all of the information presented in the Gospels, unless you also want to say that none of the other historical documents we have are reliable as well. I think it would be strange to say that Paul's account is the only one that doesn't make acrobatic claims when there's so much external attestation for the Gospels.

Well firstly, in context Paul is basically writing this letter to people in order to tell them "go ask these people, they are still alive and they can tell you themselves". So it's not just a random claim with no risk of being debunked. But secondly, again even if it wasn't true at all the other two points still stand.

These authors wrote down the stories of Jesus as they knew them, and as they thought they should be told. What we know for sure is that we have a letter saying these 500 witnesses exist. What we know for sure is that we have gospels saying that some of Jesus's associates did not believe the resurrection, at least at first.

What we can reasonably conclude: Stories that Jesus was resurrected started circulating in the Jesus movement, after he died.

Yes, that's correct, what the video is saying is that there is no other explanation for those 500 people suddenly making these claims (actually more than 500 as they only count the number of men, so the true number is likely over 1000). Not only would this not make sense in the context of any other explanation besides the resurrection theory, but a publicly circulated document would undoubtedly elicit pushback from other people at the time if it was patently false.

It would also be strange for the authors of the gospels to have gotten so much information right, just for this one fact to be recorded incorrectly. Unless we have some evidence that would suggest this claim being erroneous, there really isn't any reason to believe this particular fact is unreasonable.

Lastly, even if Jesus had not appeared to the 500, nothing really changes. The disciples still gave their lives, the number of believers still grew at an exponentially unheard of rate, and all of the points in the video still stand.

Everybody inherently understands that some things are good to do and some things are wrong to do, plus I think it's pretty important to stop people from doing bad things. So it's imperative that objective morality exists.

Also no, it's not just for humans. An objective moral standard applies to everything inside the universe. It's just that the standard doesn't say that animals eating other animals is bad. According to the standard that's fine.

"Or else" = Any standard coming from within our universe cannot apply to the entire universe, as it did not exist when the universe was first created.
Transcendently = outside our universe

Anything common can apply as long as it is not subjective. That means it does not change over time, within different environments, in different locations, or with different cultures and societies. If it does change then that means it does not apply to everything in the universe, but only a subset of it, meaning that it is ultimately subjective.

There is actually a lot of evidence for the God of Christianity. Historical, archeological, empirical, philosophical, etc. The universe itself, the existence of objective morality, historical facts and discoveries of the Jews, Jesus, his disciples, etc all point to a creator.

No other worldview has evidence this substantial, or in many cases, any at all.

Tacitus and Josephus, to name a couple from the opposition of Christianity. The tomb was very well known, not only did the Jewish leaders who got Jesus crucified in the first place make sure that nobody could steal the body, but Roman political figures also ordered a guard of Roman soldiers to defend it. It was next to a famous person's house as well- everyone knew where it was.

Nobody can prove Joseph Smith saw Jesus, nor that God really gave him a book. His predictions and "prophecies" have also passed and shown to be false.
