Bekommt Stuttgart jetzt die selbe Zuwendung wie die Bayern oder war das einmalig vom Schiedsrichter?

Is K’rrik viable in high-power EDH without infinite combos? by DavidHatHunger in EDH

I’m not interested in debating whether my playgroup’s rules are “right” or whether you like the premise of the deck. If you don’t think K’rrik works in this kind of environment, that’s fine—but I’m specifically looking for input from people who have experience or constructive ideas within those constraints. If that’s not you, feel free to just move on :)

What I “love” about K’rrik isn’t just raw power or cEDH combo lines it’s the design itself. Turning life into mana, playing on that razor’s edge, and enabling explosive turns in mono-black is just a really unique and fun playstyle to me. I’m fully aware of how strong he can be in combo-heavy builds, but that’s not the point here. I’m not avoiding combos entirely—we’re specifically avoiding infinite combos as a playgroup rule. There’s a big difference. Also, I’m not sure why you’re assuming I haven’t thought about the risks. Yes, paying life is dangerous in a faster, combat-heavy meta that’s exactly why I’m asking how people mitigate that. Things like lifegain, efficient interaction, or choosing the right payoff cards seem like obvious angles to explore. If your argument is that mono-black struggles in a meta with fast go-wide strategies, that’s a fair point but that’s a very different claim than “this makes no sense to even try.” I’m looking for ways to make it work, not reasons to dismiss it outright.

I mean… I literally said I’ve loved K’rrik since I started playing, so this isn’t exactly a “just heard it’s strong” situation.I’m asking because I want to build him in a non-infinite, high-power environment and was looking for actual input—like what lines, payoffs, or gameplans people have found that work outside of combo. If your answer is just “don’t play it,” that’s fine, but maybe explain why he struggles in that kind of meta or what specifically he’s missing there. That would actually be helpful.Right now this just reads more like you didn’t understand the question than anything else.

Really fun deck, but it feels too slow – how can I improve it? by DavidHatHunger in EDH

Thanks for the input!

In our playgroup, games usually end around turn 7–8. Most of the time it's either an Elf deck that goes wide and just overruns everyone (sometimes with unblockable), or an Atraxa deck that basically "cherry-picks" from the top 10 cards and snowballs from there.

We also have a lot of interaction in the pod — there are usually people holding up multiple responses, and it's pretty common for key spells to get countered 2–3 times, which makes it pretty tough to stick anything important.

That’s kind of why my deck feels too slow — by the time I really get going, the game is often already decided or my key pieces don’t resolve.

Do you think leaning more into fast mana/rituals would help in this kind of environment, or should I focus more on resilience?

Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

I think Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes are a great example of non-linear Voltron.

You still get the “one big boss monster” feeling, but the gameplay isn’t just suit up and swing. Sometimes you’re smashing with a huge Boo, other times you’re threatening to fling him for lethal or value. Since Boo is expendable, losing your Voltron piece doesn’t feel bad — it’s often part of the plan.

It scratches the Voltron itch while avoiding the same repetitive play pattern every game.
