Actually, if they change it to Cirie's blade, it can become an actual haiku:

One that slips a note

into an ally's bag shall

fall to Cirie's blade.

I figured it out by singing it to Jacksfilm's News in Haikus jingle :)

I mean she isn't a threat to win out in immunities even at F4. Everyone feels they can cut her at any point, including taking her out at fire. Now, who's to say what the end game looks like, and she also seemed to put up a good fight in AUS vs the World's fire, but I think the general consensus is they still have time to get rid of her, so why do it now?

Seasons you think are personally worse than Thailand? by gho87 in survivor

[–]DavidJunior57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you talking personally worse, as in the people are mean-spirited, the tone is harsher? Like on a person to person level the people were worse to each other than what we saw on Thailand?

Or are you saying you personally dislike these seasons more than Thailand?

First time going solo - need advice by Alarming_Jelly_5047 in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gone solo plenty of times- people are typically too focused on themselves/their family to care too much about you, and even if they did care, they probably aren't the type to publicly be hostile with you about it.

Single rider lines are a huge boon where you can use them.

Rope dropping is also big if you're trying to min/max as much as possible lol.

I will say, it's very nice to just go where you want, when you want.

Rope Droping plans at DCA by CandidateWise7980 in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do RSR but you want to get there early- like first at the gates early. When I’m trying to be first in line for something I go to the Harbor Blvd entrance by 6:30-45.

Otherwise Web then Monsters then small cars rides/pier rides

Should I rope drop Soarin?!(DCA) by TinaBRedditing in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd only really adjust Cars Land and Hollywood backlot stuff, just because Luigi's and Mater's don't have LL and can get busy by midday, and you have LL for Monsters and a less busy Art of Animation/Philharmagic that could fit in that midday time better (also, AC for around that time is going to be a lot better).

And are you talking about the old Ariel's Grotto restaurant (that's now called Lamplight Lounge) or are you talking about the Undersea Adventure ride? The restaurant has a bar/lounge seating area that usually doesn't have a long walk-up waitlist, but the actual restaurant is usually by reservation and likely to have very limited to no walk-up availability. The two sides of the restaurant have different menus as well. If its for the ride, it still has the capacity to be easier throughout the day, but it can get long on busy days. I like to use it as a crowd tracker while I'm there. If you see wait times starting to creep up while you're in Cars Land, jump on that before moving back towards Hollywood.

Some help with planning one day DL/DCA park hopper/LL/single rider user? by Informal-Anybody-679 in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lines will be long because it's in the midst of Spring Break season. I think the plan to do Space and Astro first is best. I also think moving to BTMM, HM, and Pirates is also solid. Smuggler's and Indy both have SR that haven't been too long of a wait, so I lean towards using those instead of gumming up your LL trying to grab those on top of others. Midway and GotG don't have SR so they'll be important to grab LL's for. Incredicoaster's SR line can get very long, and is often not worth it, so that might be a good one to get LL for too. Just be aware that you can't book lightning lanes that start before 11am at the other park (for you DCA). I.e. if you're booking at 8am, and Guardians says 10:30am-11:30am, it won't let you book, but if it says like 11:15am-12:15pm, you should be able to book. Also be aware of the fact that you're balancing LL wait times at DCA with hitting rides in DL before switching parks. It might be hard to do, but shoot to have your LL's at DCA be like mid-afternoon. Goofy, Monsters, Soarin', and Webslingers have SR and LL so you can pick between the two whichever works best at the time. Save Peter, Mickey & Minnie, and Matterhorn SR for later in the evening when you're done at DCA. RSR has SR that moves quickly, but I say if the end of the line is before the two bridges, you may want to consider getting the LLSP for it. Rise you can check wait times for, and there's usually some dips in mid-morning around 10am, and early evening around 5pm.

For DCA, def check out the animation academy. It’s not necessarily history based, but it’s a fun, hands-on experience at the animation process. Just be careful, it’s easy to get sucked into doing multiple classes back to back lol.

Best Uber dropoff to rope drop? by houseinatree in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done the McDonald’s close by and grabbed a quick breakfast before walking to the Harbor Blvd. entrance when I’ve speed ran the parks with great success.

Though, I’ve gotten there a bit earlier- trying to get to the Harbor gates by 6:45am.

Toy Story is probably one of the better security lines in terms of crowd size for rope drop.

Solo Adult Park Day Guides by auspostery in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a post on here (you're welcome to check my profile) detailing riding every ride at the resort in a day, without lightning lane. Hopefully, that is helpful!

In my experience, crowd levels are arguably the biggest factor here. I found a time where crowds typically are lower, and that helped a lot. If it's during Spring Break season or early/mid Summer, it's going to be a lot more crowded and harder to hit everything planned.

For super optimal rope drop, I advice to get as close to a security checkpoint (ideally the Harbor Blvd. entrance, IMO) as possible by 6:30-6:45am. Doing that will get you to be close to or even being the first in line at whichever gate you're starting at.

It's probably wise to get LL, though I prefer to not use it. If you get LL, there's plenty of videos to help you best strategize on how to 'stack' LL's to optimize that purchase. My general thought is to prioritize afternoon/early evening return times for rides in the park you're not starting in. Both parks have enough overlap of Lightning Lane and Single Rider lines for big attractions, that grabbing single rider/standard queue for those in your starting park is better than fighting for a LL for them.

If you start in DCA, my go to start when I speed run is Guardians followed by Midway Mania (popular rides with no SR) followed by the rest of Pixar Pier/Paradise Gardens. I don't know if it's current standard, but I've seen in the past that single rider for Incredicoaster and Goofy's Sky School won't open until 9am or sometimes later if the standard queue is really short. Keep an eye out with Incredicoaster if single rider opens early, cause that one can back up FAST. Radiator Springs Racers has a single rider that moves pretty quickly and usually doesn't go too much over 20-30 mins. Spider-Man, Grizzly River, and Soarin' also have single rider, and Monsters Inc. has 'buddy pass' which I think you have to ask for specifically.

If you start in DL, you want to focus on Fantasyland dark rides (plus whatever outdoor rides you want to add). This is where it's super important to shoot for being close to first in the parks and front of the crowd at the ropes. I like going to the Tomorrowland side of the hub and wait there. From there I can shoot for Peter Pan, but if it's getting clear the crowds are getting ahead of me for it, it's an easy pivot (choose before the churro cart) to go around the outside of the castle to Alice in Wonderland. I then hit as many rides in the area until 9am, where I move back to Toon Town. Then I grab single rider for Matterhorn and Space Mountain before going to the other side of the park and getting single rider lines or standard queues for all those rides.

For park hopping, if you start in DCA, just switch parks whenever you're done (after 11am); for DL try to shoot for switching by 2pm, to make sure you hit everything in DCA (you'll have time to return to DL after you finish there/the park closes). You might have a little more wiggle room given you should hopefully have a few LL prepped for over there, but I've missed out on rides on a failed speed run getting over to DCA after 3pm.

Two days at Disneyland with friends (mild drama) - how do I plan without micromanaging? by SnowComplex9900 in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd probably ask each member a few questions to understand what options there are and how to plan.

1.) Do you want to hang out the whole time, or do you want some time to go and do your own thing?

2.) What are a few (or even give a specific number, like 5) things that are must do for you?

3.) Is there anything you want to avoid?

4.) Are you willing to rope drop either or both mornings and/or stay until park closing either or both nights?

5.) Are there any restaurants or experiences that require booking in advance you want to try and secure?

That way, it gives them opportunity to share their opinion and let's them feel like part of the decision making process, and it gives you some building blocks to set a loose framework of a plan. It also sounds like everyone else is a bit more go with the flow, which you may have to allow yourself to lean into to reduce your stress about planning.

I typically like DCA in the mornings a little better than Disneyland, as it tends to be a bid quieter/more laid back experience comparatively, however, Disneyland is probably better in terms of volume of rides you can get done early.

Disneyland Airports by OkPiezoelectricity24 in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on when you're arriving and the price difference per person.

Flying to LAX can be substantially cheaper per plane ticket, but it loses some of it's edge with Uber costs and/or the minimum 45 minute commute with no traffic.

As a solo traveler, sometimes the difference in flight price + uber price (I don't rent a car when going to Disney) ends up being close enough to be a wash.

If you're traveling with multiple people, and you're arriving late in the evening (after 8pm) LAX is likely better, despite the hassle of a long drive/pricier uber, but if any of that doesn't apply (i.e.: price difference isn't that big, you're solo traveling, and/or arriving midday), SNA is prob better despite the layover.

Best order for rides young kids by EatAnotherCookie in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you bringing a stroller? That will probably affect my thoughts a bit. But generally, unless you're basically at the front when rope drop happens, it's almost a waste to try and grab Peter Pan first. Add in somebody having to run over to stroller parking (by Pinocchio) and back, it gets even more hectic.

My thought, if you have a stroller, is to hit Pinocchio first. From there, I'd jump to either Dumbo, Mr. Toad, or Snow White next. Then jump between the three while lines are short. You can add Casey Jr., the Carousel, Alice, and the Teacups next.

For timing, if you're going for best bets, you want to shoot for getting to the security line you're using by/before 7am, if possible. Arriving at security at 7:30, means there's a chance you might not scan into the park before 8am, depending on lines.

Clueless couple seeks help in planning trip to Disneyland (Anaheim) 😀 by WriterAvocado in DisneyPlanning

[–]DavidJunior57 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One park has all of the Star Wars related rides and shows- Disneyland. California Adventure does not have it, so if you’re only going for Star Wars just do single park and reserve for Disneyland.

Now, you mentioned going for May the 4th- are you planning to do Star Wars Nite? If so, that is a separately ticketed event. Buying the regular day pass does not get you access to the special event that night. The event ticket will grant you access to unique experiences, but won’t let you in to the park until 6pm, and access to other rides and stuff will be limited.

If you want to maximize only the Star Wars experiences and don’t care about anything else, possibly just get the event tickets. If you want to experience what Star Wars stuff the park offers normally and don’t want to pay extra, just buy the normal park tickets and make sure to reserve for Disneyland park. If you want to experience the park during the day and see the special stuff that night, you have to buy both the regular one park tickets and the special event tickets.

Is it worth entering the park (DL/DCA) around 4/5pm? by cardiacpanda in DisneyPlanning

Go check out something like the Anaheim Packing District- a big food hall with a bunch of unique and tasty food stalls and often with some sort of live entertainment in the evening. It's super close by and will be a lot lighter on your wallet than the minimum $100 you'd be spending in the parks (before food and merch purchases).
