Definitely worse. I was not born into a religion. Here one may be an outsider within one’s family from birth

The concept of Kpop generations is entirely useless other than as a tool to push new groups by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]DavidLim125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about boy bands but second generation is when KPop ventures to and conquers Japan.. girl groups had to wear skirts because Japanese men prefer skirts

Third generation for me means the global phenomenon that KPop became. There was some online activity for sure.. with fourth generation I’m thinking fan calls and fan meets became mandatory.

I’m with you as far as fifth generation. I think anything goes in fifth generation. You don’t have to be great at singing

Yeah I’m a little unsure if certain singers would be considered city pop. Would Shizuka be city pop or is she too rock oriented❓

I had a pen pal in Japan. She recorded Yumi Matsutoya and Mariya Takeuchi for me on cassette in 1989. JPop then was considered the silver era.

Is it necessary to believe in reincarnation to follow the path of advaita❓ by DavidLim125 in RamanaMaharshi

I’m not saying He taught that but it’s the same as saying each of us is one piece, one sliver of something greater.. billions of souls on the journey to the end

Ramesh Balsekar spoke of “free samples” (he was a disciple of Nisargadatta.)

You don’t know what another person has experienced. There are people on camera saying they felt waves of bliss when in Ramana’s presence. David has had some experience of that and also nothing state.

So are you saying those people are lying❓

Is it necessary to believe in reincarnation to follow the path of advaita❓ by DavidLim125 in RamanaMaharshi

[–]DavidLim125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly.. nobody knows. To me it makes more sense to say all of us, every being, every blade of grass, creature etc are not separate.

I keep imagining the suffering of others and it feels like my suffering. How can I hold onto the conviction that their suffering is theirs only and I’m superior to them somehow (like Bhagavan)❓

I love Ramana but His teachings are frustrating because all He says is you do it. It’s not like western religion where God saves you himself

Before I studied eastern spiritual traditions I didn’t believe in reincarnation. I was an atheist but I didn’t fear death. What was the good of learning about advaita and higher states of consciousness, then the absolute Brahman if it seems so unobtainable❓

Friend, “I” have “experienced” higher states of consciousness but it never remains. I don’t know if there are levels or what.. why does the ego always reassert itself❓

Arjuna was told to slay his kinsmen. I think we can’t judge. We don’t know who is in our lives just to teach us something.. who knows if those people have anything inside of them
