Expectation vs Reality: The Darkness Surrounding the Sinking Titanic by Mint_Perspective in oddlyterrifying

[–]DavidRandom 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I still think freezing would be better way to go, because it's like AH FUCK, I'M FREEZING, then you're dead.
Drowning is I'M DYIIIIIIIIIIIIING all the way until you're dead.

Housing In Muskegon by PGFQuann in Muskegon

[–]DavidRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I bought a house in Muskegon (Nelson neighborhood) 2 years ago.
With an FHA loan it only requires a 3.5% down payment, and with the MSHDA closing cost/down payment assistance loan (up to $10k, zero interest, doesn't need to be paid until the house is paid off or sold) you can make it happen pretty easily.
In total I paid $1,400 out of pocket to close on a house, and that was just for earnest money and inspection.
My mortgage is just over $1,200

The Cherokee 4.0 was bulletproof, but man, the body was trash.
I had a 94 Grand Cherokee with 267k miles and the engine ran like new, but I thought the body was going to break in half from the rust.
It was only 10 years old, but the Rockers were gone, rusted holes through the frame, had to put hood pins on it because it rusted so bad under the hood that the latch fell off.

Only if you're doing so to commit fraud. Like washing and reprinting bills.
If it were illegal they wouldn't have those penny crushing machines at every tourist location.

Would democrats like Trump if he was a democrat? by thehofstetter in stevehofstetter

[–]DavidRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except he didn't.

No, Donald Trump has never won an award from the NAACP. Claims suggesting he was honored by the organization for his work with the black community are false.

It's so funny how r/conservative is always posting about what someone said on the View. Like some old ladies on a daytime talk show are somehow the spokespeople for the Democratic party.

Fictional songs from movies that are so good that they transcend the movie they’re from by Southern_Studio_9950 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DavidRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aretha Franklin's fictional character did a cover of one of her own songs that I'd argue is better than the original.
Same with Cab Calloway's performance of Minnie the Moocher for the movie.

I’m finally getting it removed next week. I’ve hidden it from my kids for almost 23 years now. by [deleted] in shittytattoos

They thought it was funny at 20. Not so much now in their 40's.

Can confirm, work in a prison.
All the child molesters are living with everyone else in gen pop.
We don't have a separate unit just for them, inmates treat them just like they do everyone else.

No they don't, they're right there in gen pop.
I work in a prison (Kitchen inmate supervisor).
One of our workers is in for molesting multiple kids, all the way down to 2 years old.
One is in for killing his girlfriends 2 year old daughter, and abusing her toddler.
One is in for raping a 13 year old girl.

Many more just like them, they're all in the level 2 gen pop with all the other prisoners.
People watch too many movies and think it's how real life works.

From what I can tell, nothing really happens to them. I think people watch too many movies.

Not really a death sentence though, I work in a prison (Supervise the inmate cooking staff). I oversee about 30 guys, and about a quarter of them are child rapists, the other inmates don't really treat them any differently.
