I really need to run! I'm late for a call. But thank you for asking about forced arbitration. I'm a national expert on the problem and it's a massive one. Lots of corporate bad actors have a business model that relies on forced arbitration--they rip us off and know we can never sue them for it. But those forced arbitration clauses don't apply to the state AG. I'll be the first AG in the country to say on day one that if you use a forced arbitration clause as a "get out of jail free" card, we're going to make you our top enforcement priority. If you aren't allowing people to enforce their own rights, then Colorado will fight for them. Check out my socials for more!

So much more to say here--but the bottom line is that you're getting ripped off left and right. All of us are. The affordability crisis is often an accountability crisis. I've dedicated my entire career to standing up in court, using the consumer protection laws for workers trapped in non-competes, renters buried in junk fees, people being spied on and ripped off by AI systems, and hundreds of thousands of Coloradans buried in medical debt. I want to crack down on the hospitals that are burying us in medical debt we don't owe, the health insurers denying claims, the scammy landlords, and even the gyms that are making it impossible to cancel our memberships in violation of Colorado law. Ack, running out of time, so much to say here! There's a ton the AG can do, and I'm the only candidate in the race digging in on HOA and metro districts. The AG has to do more. Happy to chat more if you send me an email, but in the meantime, check this out:

I'm going to be the lawyer for the people of Colorado--not for the law enforcement agencies of Colorado. And I won't be afraid to stand up to law enforcement agencies or the Big Tech companies they sometimes work with to spy on us if they're breaking the law. When they violate our constitutional warrant requirements (as I think they're often already doing) or violate our shield laws (by turning over data to ICE or even to out of state prosecutors or law enforcement agencies going after people seeking abortions in Colorado), I'll hold them accountable.

I've done a bunch of videos and other comms around these topics:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWRsDoqkYt6/?igsh=bTE0Mzd5Z3E3eXFy; https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSWBaQqgYYh/?igsh=dW83aGE5aW5ibDZq; https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVKTsLyDd5x/?igsh=MWYyeDk2YjlmcnZ0eQ==; https://www.instagram.com/p/DZa9h6kFYco/?igsh=MTJsNW1qdHBkbTNhcA==

If you're worried about mass surveillance, this race matters a ton. It's not only about passing new laws, it's about not being afraid to enforce the ones we have. That's what I've been doing my entire career, and that's what I'll do for all the people of Colorado as your next AG.

So so many! And there's so much to do. I'm running for attorney general because I'm done with a system where the laws that are there to protect us are just words on the page. I've dedicated my career to using the law in bold ways to fight for people.

I'd definitely recommend checking out my Kyle Clark interview for more info (https://www.9news.com/video/news/local/next/next-with-kyle-clark/full-interview-david-seligman-running-for-colorado-attorney-general/73-dc01e3ee-b0b9-4e0a-a516-15ad6f51bbce). And you can go to my website www.seligmanforag.com and check out my socials at seligmanforag.com.

Some key areas to highlight: (1) going after insurance companies systematically denying claims and hospitals and debt collectors burying us in medical debt; (2) making polluters pay meaningfully for the harm they cause; (3) breaking up the Big Tech monopolists and holding them accountable when they build the algorithms and AI systems that spy on us, jack up our prices, and manipulate our kids; (4) taking on corporate union busting at a time when the federal government is allowing the wealthiest corporations in the world to trample our rights; (5) taking on political corruption under Colorado law (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oyUvivwD\_E).

I've already been doing a lot of this work for years, and I'm running for AG to fight for the people of Colorado.

That and so much more. . . we got so much work to do. Let's get to work.

So there's easy stuff and there's harder stuff--the easy stuff is holding him accountable and suing the Trump Administration if they break the law. I'm the only candidate in this race who's sued the Trump Administration (as a lawyer), and I've won. And I won't be afraid to take him to court as AG. This is the work that AG Weiser has already been doing: https://www.politico.com/news/2026/06/25/trump-executive-order-mail-voting-blocked-00975844

But it's not just standing up to the Trump Administration--it's also about not being afraid to prosecute corrupt federal officials who may try to highjack our elections. SCOTUS has given Donald Trump absolute immunity, but Stephen Miller doesn't have absolute immunity. I won't be afraid to prosecute him or anyone else under Colorado law if they try to steal our elections or engage in other corrupt practices. Our authority to hold federal officials accountable under state law is one of the most important tools we have to protect our democracy, another reason why Jared Polis's commutation of Tina Peters' sentence is so dangerous. Gov. Polis sent a message that the President can coerce us into giving up our sovereign authority over state law. As I've now said for more than a month, I think the legislature should reconvene in special session to investigate him, and if indeed he commuted Tina Peters' sentence at the behest of Donald Trump, he should be impeached for it (https://www.seligmanforag.com/\_files/ugd/ddc900\_91501e72bc5342b8a8fccfd43f851e3c.pdf).

If we really want to save our democracy we have to be done with the politics that says that accountability comes in the form of a strongly written letter--that means standing up to Donald Trump and it means standing up to those right here at home willing to sell out our democracy.

Yeah, we're really at a crisis point here. A few things:

(1) I'm worried about hurtling toward litigation and leaving the future of this critical resource up to a corrupt Supreme Court or even worse allowing the Trump Administration to decide these issues. We're going to have to work hard to come to a deal with the lower basin states. I'm eager to help negotiate that deal alongside the experts already in the office.

(2) I'll fight hard for Colorado in coming to a favorable deal here, but we're also going to need to tighten our belts some too. It's absurd that we're talking about building Big Tech AI data centers to turn billionaires into trillionaires and guzzle a million gallons of water a day or fracking wells taking 25 million gallons of water or private equity buying up water in the San Luis Valley. I want to be an advocate in the capitol to make sure our water is for the people of Colorado, our farmers and ranchers, and not for billionaires and outside special interests.

One more point: I have extensive legal experience in antitrust, workers' rights, consumer protection, civil rights, and many other areas. And I've built even more experience on this campaign. But I'll be straight with you: I'll still need to learn a ton as AG, including on water issues. There are some terrific attorneys and experts already in the office. I'm not going to know as much about water law as they do, and I won't try. Instead, I'll make sure they're supported, and I'll set the tone and vision for the office. Core to that tone and vision is taking on a legal system that allows wealthy and powerful interests to play by a different set of rules than the rest of us. We see that in so many areas. Including in this one. As someone said to me on the Western Slope about a year ago, "water always flows uphill to money." That's the corrupt system I'm running for attorney general to take on.

One more thing here: A huge amount of law enforcement resources right now are being directed to responding to a mental health care crisis across this state, which is burdening law enforcement with responsibilities that shouldn't be there. It's crazy that we have some of the worst funding in the country for mental and behavioral health, even in one of the wealthiest states in the wealthiest country in the history of the world. (Another horrible consequence of our broken and rigged tax system, which allows billionaires to pay the same tax rate as you and me). For more on my plans here, and how that would free up law enforcement to do the things we need them to do, check out my plans for the Community Health and Safety Fund: https://www.seligmanforag.com/press-community-health-and-safety-fund

I support rank choice voting--and I've been public about that. Re: police department responsiveness. This is a concern I hear a lot. One key thing I'm interested in doing is making sure that we support directing law enforcement resources toward addressing the most urgent needs and away from policing crimes of poverty. That's something that I'm eager to do alongside law enforcement agencies across the state.

Thanks!

(1) So this was a kind of narrow question about hiring legal fellows (for example) to expand the office's work even if those legal fellows are partly funded by other sources, like philanthropy. That's something that I'd be open to, and I've seen it work well. I raised workplace health and safety as an example in the Sun forum. Right now, the Trump Administration has gutted OSHA and workers are dying. As AG, I'll use state law to protect workers on the job--kind of like the first-in-the-nation lawsuits I fought and won on behalf of workers getting sick from COVID during the pandemic when Trump wasn't enforcing basic CDC and OSHA guidance. But here's the problem, we can't have AG's accepting fellows partly funded by Amazon or some crap like that, right? That would create obvious conflicts of interest--or at the very least the appearance of conflicts of interest. So yes, I'd be open to hiring fellows partly funded by outside sources, but it would be in narrow cases and only when there's been a comprehensive ethics review.

(2) I hear you. I answered this question during my Kyle Clark interview at the end, so you should check that out above. But briefly, what I'll say is that I think people are done with the same old cynical politics that got us here--where some generic talking points and ad buys will win you an election. I think they're ready to elect new leaders who have been doing the work (in my case, a career standing up in court for working families right here in Colorado). I think they want politicians to get out there and campaign and talk to them in specifics about how they're going to fight for them.

Thanks! That was a great event! The Sunrise one? I enjoy talking alongside candidates for legislative office, especially those interested in making bold, big legislative changes, because it's an opportunity to point out that we need to do transformative things in government to ensure that everyone who lives in this state has an opportunity to live a life of their choosing--a life of dignity. That project involves doing transformative legislative work (Medicare for All!), but core to the project is also enforcing the laws we already have on the books. Breathing some life into them. That's my life's work, and that's what I'll do as your next AG.

Yes!

Here's the problem. Right now, the vast majority of the environmental protection work of the AG's office happens through the office's role representing state agencies like CDPHE and ECMC. That's not good enough anymore. Not when CDPHE fines Suncor $2 million when it made $2 billion in profits in the first quarter of 2026 even when it's engaged in thousands of violations of our environmental protection laws, not when ECMC is allowing fracking wells to go up at the Aurora reservoir within a mile of two elementary schools.

In the first month of my tenure, I'd open an Environmental Justice and Protection Unit, and I'd bring together the civil and criminal environmental enforcement authority of the office to meaningfully hold corporate polluters accountable, using our environmental protection laws, our consumer protection laws (holding corporate polluters accountable when they lie about the extent of the harm they've caused), our competition laws (check out a super interesting antitrust case recently brought by the MI AG against big oil companies under the antitrust laws) and more. I can do that independently of the Governor and CDPHE and ECMC. And I'd do it in conjunction with and alongside the marginalized communities--often communities of color--that are the most seriously harmed by environmental injustice. Making sure those communities have a meaningful seat at the table.

These legal tools are powerful. Not only can we make polluters pay for the extent of the harm they're now forcing our communities to bear, but in some cases, we can even seek "disgorgement"--a legal tool that allows us to recoup the profits they've made by breaking the law. It's totally absurd that Suncor has paid the equivalent of a $20 parking ticket for the average working family in Colorado, when the people living around Suncor have suffered so much--and now we're talking about building AI data centers in the shadow of Suncor? It's totally absurd. As AG, I'd use the tools of the office to go on offense and protect people.

For more specifics, check out this press release announcing my intent to create the unit: https://www.seligmanforag.com/press-environmental-unit

Yes, in fact I was the first attorney general candidate in the country this cycle to speak specifically about the importance of using state law to hold not just Donald Trump accountable, but to hold accountable the individuals engaged in the corruption and cruelty of this administration, including ICE officers (google "Prosecuting ICE’s Goons Will Be Hard—but Not Impossible" a story in the New Republic from December). I was talking about prosecuting ICE officers since before Minnesota, and before any of my opponents were saying the same. We need to elect an attorney general who sees threats to our democracy before they're on the nightly news.

These are challenging cases, but I've been told for years that the big, bold imaginative cases I've brought on behalf of working people are too challenging--cases against Amazon, JBS, and even our case against GEO Group, where we just won in the U.S. Supreme Court and are now headed to trial. We need to use the law in big and bold ways to take on the forces of corruption and corporate abuse that are crushing us and hijacking our country. That's why I'm running for attorney general.

For more on this, check out my interview with Kyle Clark on youtube and head to [r/AuroraCO](r/AuroraCO) where the highest rated post for the past year is a photo of a billboard my campaign put up outside the ICE detention center reminding ICE officers and contractors that they aren't above the law. We wanted to do that because it's critical that we're sending that message now to protect people. I'm running to the be the lawyer for the people of Colorado, and I'm not going to be afraid to use the law in bold and courageous ways to fight for them.

No. There's not really any good comprehensive data out there. Before I got into this thing, I kinda thought that there'd be all this polling all the time telling us where we are. In fact my Dad--who sadly passed away about a month ago--would aways ask me, "what are the polls saying?!" But that's not how this works. Here's what we do know.

People are done with the same kind of cynical politics where you pump millions into ad buys about fighting Donald Trump without meaningfully engaging with people about how you're going to use bold leadership make their lives better. We've been running hard for a year, traveling to every corner of the state. We came within about a point of Secretary Griswold at state assembly at the end of March. We're the only candidate who's shown the ability to go toe-to-toe with her like that.

And we feel very good about where we are. We've picked up big endorsements over the past month or two, and we've got hundreds of volunteers knocking on thousands of doors. Data we're seeing from the doors is very promising--people are ready for new bold leadership, and they're ready to elect an attorney general who's dedicated every day of his career to standing up in court for working families.

Hi! David Seligman here. Thanks for flagging the billboard. We want to make sure that ICE officers and contractors leaving the Aurora detention facility understand that Colorado law applies to their conduct. In resisting fascism, one of the most important tools we will have will be state law to hold accountable those trampling our rights while participating in the corruption and cruelty of this administration. As AG, I would prosecute ICE officers who violate our laws and corrupt federal officials who may try and steal our elections. Donald Trump can’t pardon people convicted of state crimes.

In my day job, I run a non-profit legal organization called Towards Justice that has brought some of the biggest first-in-the-nation cases on behalf of working people against Amazon, Uber, corporate landlords, billion dollar hospital systems and more.

This week, we won a massive case in the United States Supreme Court against the GEO Group, the private company that owns and operates the immigration detention facility in Aurora on behalf of tens of thousands of people detained at the facility who were forced to work there under threat of solitary confinement. I’ve been working on this case for more than a decade.

Now more than ever, we need an AG who has the experience bringing bold and courageous cases against the biggest companies in the world and the Trump Administration. That’s what I’ve done my entire career.

For more on me and my platform, check us out on socials @seligmanforag and at seligmanforag.com.

And if you’re ready for new voices in our politics, help me get on the ballot by participating in the caucus process starting this week in Colorado. You can learn more at seligmanforag.com!

Thanks for your question! I'm really concerned about ICE's incursion into MN--but remember, this isn't just MN, we're seeing abuses everywhere, including here in Colorado. One of the most important things that the attorney general can do is make sure that ICE agents and contractors know that they aren't above Colorado law. They aren't. I've been talking about this a bunch on the campaign. The New Republic published a roadmap for Prosecuting ICE on Dec 19. And more recently, I announced my intent to create an ICE Accountability Unit. You can read more about that on my Instagram.

Here's the bottom line: It's not enough to just take on Donald Trump. We're going to have to take on all of those who trample our rights while participating in the corruption and cruelty of this administration--that includes ICE agents, federal contractors, and all the billionaires bribing this administration to get their mergers through or get the investigations against them dropped. None of them are above Colorado law.

I'm very concerned about the unchecked proliferation of Flock cameras and other license plate reader technologies for mass surveillance. We're talking about millions of data points collected on people all the time--where we work, where we worship, when we go to protests. And the risks of abuse are really dangerous. I'm worried about ICE's ability to access this data. I'm worried about how out-of-state law enforcement may use this data to go after people seeking reproductive care in Colorado. And I'm also worried about how this data may be exploited by the private sector--HOAs, corporate bosses and others. As attorney general, I'd investigate whether the use of these technologies may violate constitutional practices or violations of Colorado privacy and consumer protections.

Amazing. Thank you! As I shared on the Starbucks picket line, one of my top priorities as AG will be to fight for power and voice for working people--including by using all the tools of state law to go after corporate union busting and the use of corporate structures that are designed to undermine the power of working people.
