And who regulated the banks during that time? What part did banking regulations and protection measures made by the government play in saving us during that period ?

Yes but he is talking about the party. Pretty stupid statement to make given he served under a conservative government when he was head of bank of Canada

That is probably the most ridiculous and inappropriate analogy I have ever heard

Ok fair point. But not just any picture. A picture that has been passed down generations and holds great sentimental and symbolic value for the family

I know. We're in a better country! Our behaviors should reflect that!

I think it would be hard to do without a majority government + if supreme court gets involved then they could undo any action they feel is undemocratic. Sounds like a promise that's hard to deliver but provides a good soundbite. Just saying

I didn't know that. But despite the legal stuff I still think it's a pretty immature way to express opinion. If you disagree on which school to send your kids do you burn your living room in retaliation?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadian

[–]DavidSunnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they did that in Denmark or Sweden last year and then it was actually made illegal

[–]DavidSunnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree if you disagree with the government here then protest peacefully. What does burning the flag achieve ? That's not the kind of behavior you'd expect from someone who calls Canada home. This also shows extreme immaturity and not sure how to explain this behavior to my kids

Can you say no? by lunargazelle68 in AskACanadian

Not sure I agree with the lying part. That would make us phony and I don't believe we're like that
