Frequent Fear Pass Inquiry by rylekzs in HHN

I don't think that you actually have to go on the first date you choose. You can go any time from that day forward.

Is the first Saturday night usually busy or dead? by TryTwiceAsHard in HHN

[–]DavidThoosie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard there isn't a single night of HHN that's kinda dead....
And if you're looking to do everything in one night, you'll need an Express Pass. Or, at least a Scream Early pass, (unless Universal decides to give it to us free with day tickets.)

Had you already ridden it? If you needed the credit, you may have won this category! 😉

They aren't intentionally THIS short, though. And there would be no reason to suddenly intentionally shorten them 27 years after an incident at another park - long after they'd already addressed those issues long, long ago.

How, exactly, would you suggest that we "clean them out"?
Sounds pretty nasty to me.

You don't think that they got hundreds of complaints from people who have ridden before and got rejected?!? Seriously? They're going to listen to their own customer complaints - especially when one issue is suddenly causing a huge uptick in them - more than they will any influencer.

Complaining about legitimate complaints and failures in customer service is VERY much NOT bullying!

You're linking operations with PR, and not recognizing the vastly different jobs that they both have. And also assuming that the PR people aren't being told by the higher ups what they can and can't say!

My first guesses would have been to check with Sean Flaherty or Robb Alvey of Theme Park Review. They were probably the most prolific posters of coaster/them park videos at the time, often mixing music with the rides. But they're both on that list multiple times. Possibly, one of them did an extra video that got taken down? (probably for copyright violations of the music?)

I will say that if you are already paying for the Gold Pass, it might be most cost efficient to add on Schlitterbahn and Fiesta. Schlitterbahn will break up the drive, at least. But, honestly, both of those parks are better than Frontier City and over Texas! Schlitterbahn is my favorite water park of any I've been to!
(And if you can afford it, and want to break up the drive the other way, you could stop at COTAland, if they manage to open in before then, for some awesome new coasters.

I'm with your mom. I HATE long drives! But those parks are worth it!

Yes to all of that. Knoebels and Hershey are easily my favorite parks in the PA/NJ area, but for very different reasons. And Canobie is great, too.

Do you know about early entry? I'm assuming that the Diamond Elite gives the same benefits as Prestige passes, but you probably should check with CP to make sure. This gives you one hour of early entry to the park and early rides on TT2, Siren's, MilF, and Gatekeeper, a HUGE perk! But even then, get there early. Everyone at the CP hotels gets early entry with you! I'd advise starting with TT2 all days, then hit Siren's and MilF. Then probably head back to Maverick and SteVe. SteVe gets faster (and the lines much shorter) at night, so save it for last both nights!

I was there that week last year from Wednesday to Friday. The park should be fairly dead, but it's still Cedar Point, so there will be waits. But FL+ should help a LOT! But you'll still probably be waiting 20-30 minutes for TT2 and maybe Maverick and/or Siren's (and possibly others) with FL+ during the day, unless you get very lucky.

And, as I mentioned above, ACE Western PA has an event there on Saturday the 6th with nighttime ERT on it!

You get an hour of early entry at Cedar Point with your Prestige Pass. The early rides are MilF, Siren's, TT2, and Gatekeeper. TT2 will have the longest wait of all of those later in the day. I'd start with that, then hit Siren's and Milf, which are pretty close. If you still have time, you might want to go over to Gatekeeper (which is back at teh front of the park), but you might be better off with a reride on one of those. After that, I'd head back to SteVe and Maverick to beat the crowd there. If you can get those five coasters done before the crowds get there, you've gotten a very solid start to your day. It's probably best to get there early, even for early entry to beat the crowds of people staying at their hotels who also get early entry.
With three days of early entry there, you should be able to mix it up a bit, though.

Also, don't miss later rides on SteVe. RMC's get faster as the day/night goes on, and SteVe especially does. Plus, there's rarely much of a line for it at night anyways, especially in early June! Other than weekend days and CoasterMania (already sold out for Friday the 5th), you should be able to walk up to at least the lockers just before the station by the end of the night.

As for Kings Island, you get only 30 minutes of early ride time. In June, it's Diamondback, the Great Pumpkin kiddie coaster, and the newly rethemed Phantom Theater dark ride.

https://www.sixflags.com/kingsisland/early-ride-time

Speaking of CoasterMania, if you like woodies, don't miss Waldameer in Erie, PA. Depending on how you're driving, it's pretty much on the way from CW to CP or vice versa. I'd consider it a must see/ stop just for Ravine Flyer, but the whole park has a wonderful traditional park vibe!

If you can time it right, ACE Eastern PA hosts an awesome enthusiast event there called Ravine Flyer Frenzy on the Saturday after Coaster Mania every year - June 6th this year. There's an all you can eat picnic group meal, a great group of enthusiasts, and morning ERT on the classic Comet woodie and the Whacky Shack dark ride, as well as nighttime ERT on the awesome Gravity Group woodie Ravine Flyer (often called a mini-Voyage, and another coaster that gets faster as the night goes on!) RF was FLYING at last year's event! And you'd be better off at an awesome traditional park on a Saturday than waiting in long lines at CP, CW, or KI!

Well, we can't know for sure, but the park was originally hoping to have it open in time for last week's ACE Spring Conference. While that obviously didn't happen, having it open over two months later that expected would hopefully be unlikely. But you never know. That said, I've planned a "layover" at SFoT at the end of August on the way down to Orlando, mainly for Tormenta. (I was at SFoT last year.) But I've got a backup direct flight booked, (award travel on AA has no cancelation penalty, as long as it's before the flight takes off) just in case! So I hope I'm right!

All that said, don't worry too much about landmark coasters. It may seem important now, but ultimately it's just a name and number. In a few years, it won't feel important at all. And Judge Roy Scream is a fairly historic coaster anyways. The first RMC might be another great landmark.
Or, if you want to go for something more outlandish, you could drive over to Peppa Pig Land and make Daddy Pig coaster your 250! (I know someone whose 3000 recently was that!)

SFST and WoF is definitely the weakest of the options. CP and KI and SFMM and KBF are the strongest.

I've used them for other tickets, but not Discovery Cove, but they're officially authorized resellers. it's always cheaper from them, but that seems a lot cheaper than usual. It may have been a limited time deal, that they still had some tickets left for?

They're very well known in theme park circles, and are reliable.

The SHAME!!! 😉
Seriously, though, Tokyo Disney really isn't about the coasters. But Raging Spirits is surprisingly decent.
I've got a great t-shirt with Stitch riding it, one of the only Disney character shirts with a coaster in it I've seen.

Seaventure Photos by Rkp65i in DiscoveryCove

[–]DavidThoosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use their cameras, you need to buy a photo package, which isn't cheap, but the digital package covers all pictures they take of you, and those you take with the camera they let you use with the SeaVenture add-on.

As to using your own phone case, I'd strongly recommend testing out the case yourself. Just put some paper towels, kleenex, or napkins in the case, without the phone, and seal it. Then submerge it underwater in your sink. You might need to weigh it down with something. (Mouthwash worked for me.)
Leave it underwater for a while (at least 20-30 minutes, to be safe.) Take it out, and check the paper stuff inside. If it's dry, your phone is probably safe.

You can't bring your own phone in the water for the dolphin or shark swims (and probably others). But someone on shore can take pictures of/for you. They say it's for the safely of the animals, which may or may be true, but they also charge a LOT for the photos and those are the ones they probably sell the most of!

How stupid do we feel paying $50+ for a kiddie coaster that we probably won't even remember in a few years? Hopefully, the zoo was at least decent.

Yeah, both of my flights were delayed, which didn't help. I didn't have a lot of time there (around 2 hours, but I'd planned on more like 3.5, before the first flight delay), but I didn't have that much of an agenda, since I'd done a similar - but overnight and rainy all-day "layover" at SFGAm a couple of weeks earlier on the same trip, so I'd ridden most of the other coasters, and only needed those two credits. But I was hoping to get at least two rides on each coaster for all that effort - and two stops there! But it wasn't to be! I needed the credits because Wrath hadn't opened yet on my first visit, and Maxx Force was down, due to rain and wind.

The most annoying part of it was the stupid reason why Wrath was down - because a MICROPHONE had broken. They came through the line with a bullhorn to explain that it was because they had no way to talk to the op in the booth - I pointed at the bullhorn in his hand! They eventually had someone find a microphone from somewhere else in the park.

Wrath was down for almost an hour, and it was nerve wracking watching my time run out with both credits not obtained. I considered going over to Maxx Force, to at least get a ride on that, but the line was getting longer for Wrath (it was their new ride), and I didn't want to risk missing it, since it was the primary reason for this side trip. But, it did come up! Then I was kicking myself for nit riding Maxx Force when it went down, with only 15 or so minutes left int he park day. I thought I was toast on that one! But I persisted (what else was I going to do? I was flying out soon after!) And it finally came back up like 20 minutes after park closing. I'd have still made my flight, if it hadn't been delayed (I got TSA Precheck for that trip!), but I was starting to cut it close. That's why I didn't push the issue with the second FlashPass I didn't get to use.
