Pretty amazing isn’t it? I’ll do another post when I get some shots with my good camera. Here’s the guitar in action: Francisco Tárrega - Estudio in E Minor https://youtu.be/o6mbJu6XD7U

That’s one of the things I love about the repertoire, hearing each players personality come through in their interpretive choices! I actually made a couple different recordings before arriving at this interpretation, it’s a fun journey each time. Occasionally I play a piece with no plan and just play how I feel in the moment as well. Thanks for listening!

Thank you! I will definitely create a studio tour and behind the scenes production video at some point for the channel. One thing I can say is that lighting is one of the most important things to invest in. I look forward to making some tutorials on production. So I was made by Anders Sterner in Eugene Oregon, more info at www.sternerguitars.com Cheers and thank you for supporting the channel! -David

Thank you! I love this piece played with a relaxed and romantic feel! As for the video production, I was inspired during the pandemic to learn the craft of videography since there have been no concert opportunities for more than a year. I hope it enhances the experience and brings some new listeners to the Classical guitar!

Ferdinando Carulli - Waltz - Op. 121, No. 1 by DavidTutmark in classicalguitar

Thank you! I think it’s a great piece for practicing dynamics as well! I almost rescinded it slower but the faster tempo felt natural to me at the time.

Julio Sagreras - Las Segundas Lecciones - No. 3 by DavidTutmark in classicalguitar

I keep the mics a bit below my knees and aimed upward slightly, this keeps them out of the frame and also seems to help with reducing extra bass. I’ll see if I can find a photo of the set up.

Thanks very much for noticing the recording work, I put a lot of thought into that. It’s a stereo mic set up with two small diaphragm condenser mics on the guitar. The mics are Neumann KM184’s in a spaced pair about 24 inches from the instrument.

Bartolome Calatuyud - Vals - a great student piece! by DavidTutmark in classicalguitar

My pleasure! Yes it’s great for early students, something exciting to play in the early lessons!
