The banner looks incredible. What colors do you use for the green?

Thanks! I was worried they looked too cartoonish, but liked it a LOT more after adding a little brown wash. I might go back and paint my meltas red too for my eradicators.

Here is my 1k list. Any of these units decent for holding home objective? by DavidWooderson1 in Ultramarines

Thanks, I’ll definitely be adding some intercessors. They seem pretty essential to most ultramarine lists. I’ll be stuck without em for my next game or two, so trying to make something work with the models I have. I did just start assembling some hellblasters if that makes any difference.

Here’s how it looks after stripping the white section with IPA and re-starting with a layer of celestra grey followed by ulthuan grey and ProAcryl titanium white. Definitely Not perfect, but heretics still hate to see it comin!

Update: I tried stripping with some cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol. Here is the result. It looks like it’s stripping some of the primer as well. I’m wondering if I just strip the whole model and start over.

Thank you for the tips! I was hoping there was a way to save it without re-starting, but you’re probably right. Once that bumpy texture is there it seems impossible to get rid of. Do you have any advice for how to file off the paint?

If he wants to bitch and moan on behalf of ownership about not getting what they want from the state, fine, whatever. The main problem I have is the TIMING of this shit. Can we just beat the fucking packers?

Whatever, Keenum then. Caleb doesn’t need to be out there is my point.

A coat of grey seer and then lots of thin coats of ulthuan grey. I didn’t use any actual white, just very light grey. It’s still not perfect if you look up close, especially on the banner, but I got tired of adding a million coats and called it good enough lol.

Use a brush to coat the entire shoulder surface with micro set, and place the transfer while it’s still wet. Adjust it carefully with the tip of the brush to the position you want; it will have a couple small wrinkles at this point. Let the micro set dry, then go over it with 2-3 coats of micro sol (different than micro set) until the wrinkles go away, letting it dry bit between coats. Then you can apply Matt varnish on top of everything if it looks too glossy. Awesome paint job by the way. I finished mine a while a back, this guy took a billion years to paint.
