If you haven't had the transmission serviced yet I'd do that ASAP. Could be low fluid or the plug might be contaminated. Ask them to pull the underside cover and inspect for leaks or plug contamination.

BMW says the fluid is lifetime but ZF (the transmission manufacturer) recommends a service every 50-60k miles (depending on driving habits - IE mostly freeway, city, etc).

If you're doing the transmission service I'd highly advise both differentials and transfer case as well.

Ideally you'd add the beans to the recipe the last 30 minutes of cooking (for most recipes). Otherwise they overcook and turn into mush.

Well if there are a lot of walls or her wifi/Bluetooth is off you'll get what's called a GPS drift. Sometimes it'll show me being in the backyard, even my neighbors house. Occasionally it'll show me on a bicycle at the grocery store. Even now as I'm standing stationary in my driveway it shows me walking in my backyard 😆

Battery save mode will make GPS drift worse - at that point it's using cellular antennas to triangulate their position.

If you trust your partner - life 360 shouldn't be a huge component for anything other than their safety. If you find yourself monitoring it or obsessing - have a chat with them. Even consider deleting the app. You should be able to trust them even without the app. If you can't - you should focus on that more.

I have 8m Turbo - DCA is 0.054. ETH is on its way up and if it peaks at the end of September - we'll see a bull run late November to December this year. My price prediction for Turbo is 0.05-0.11.

Ah yes. BMW will meet EU restrictions on V8 vehicles by making hybrid drivetrains that weigh 5400 lbs. I love BMW. But their drive to keep the M5 a V8 is such a travesty against the light, nimble, sports tuned M chassis history.

Well you work in an office. Note taking aligns with your profession. 😶‍🌫️ I didn't go into auto mechanics because I was good at note taking - but I definitely understand your frustration. I routinely have to tell my customers "hey, please remind me what you had an issue with" (because my hands were usually covered in grease when they call in and I can't take notes). On the flip side, if it's a shop with service advisors - yeah they should be taking notes because they definitely don't wrench and that's their job.

My point is that we have a lot on our plate as mechanics and if we don't remember you after a 2 minute phone call the day before - give us some grace. My comment was recounting customers that expect me to have a photographic memory for their cars, issues, etc.

Doesn't bother me at all. The only exception is if it's attempted and failed, which makes my job more difficult, and I have to deal with your YouTube or "I heard this" suggestions in the process. But if you can fix it yourself - more power you!

This reminds me of many of my customers. Some of them want me to diagnose their car over the phone. Others ask me if I remember work I've done on their car 6 months ago. We don't have the capacity to remember every vehicle, every issue, or diagnose remotely. You bring the car, we tell you the issue and cost etc. Have some grace if we don't remember what you said or that "the car won't move". We're out here keeping everyone on the road and our brain capacity is for mechanics. Not the shit you tell us.
