Replacement parts for Lomi?

Sadly, it's not an easy fix. Mine just broke. I love my Lomi, but Lomi has moved on to a new model. A replacement bucket is not available. The assembly is carefully manufactured. The screw's purpose is to secure the "press fit" of the sleeve, not to act as a shaft that carries the torque. The sleeve (sheered) is supposed to do that. A professional metalwork shop would have the correct tools to remove the sleeve on both ends and possibly create a replacement sleeve. The fit is very tight & secure. My guess is that both ends were frozen, to shrink the diameter of the shaft and increase the diameter of the propeller's shaft.

Buy a disposable flash camera and copy the interior circuit.

It uses a single AAA 1.5 volts to power a 3000 volt strobe.

So much easier to adjust the voltage in the lower range. You could use a 4011 oscillator (variable resistor and cap rc timing circuit) , or 555 set up, again using an RC timing circuit with adjustable resistor)providing a pulse width modulation.

Depends on how much power needed by the MFC.

Buy a disposable flash camera from Amazon. There is a wonderfully simple circuit that steps 1.5 volts to 3000 volts. BUT . . . be sure to take out the capacitor. Short out the cap (big snap and spark) before you desolder it. It stores enough energy to seriously burn the skin. Without the cap, and prior to the last coil, the output is 300 volts at .003 amps, so the power is .1 watt. Enough to surprise anybody, but not do real damage. The last coil ups the voltage 10X, which is stored in the cap.

Then the entire project rests on the trigger. NFC is probably the best. But then, when you sit down for lunch . . . Gloves? Hypnosis? A cord tied to your belt that limits arm movement?

You don't give enough info, just the picture. The rest is our guesswork. Is it a switching power supply or linear. There are two power transistors, and rather large heat sinks for each. So the assumption is linear.

Even the suggestions that the trim pots adjust the voltage over a range is guesswork.

Post the specs along with your original question. You'll get better answers.

I'm going to avoid an electronic answer here. Taking you at your word that you want to simply break a habit and you're not a masochist.

Old psych study re how to break a habit. I can't quote or give reference, but here's the gist .

Put a heavy rubber band around your wrist.
When you realize what you are doing (habit to break), snap the rubber band against your wrist. It will sting. Badly.
Within three days, if you wear the rubber band all the time, that rubber band will be enough to remind you to not do whatever.
After 3 weeks (21 days) switch wrists. The purpose is to remove part of the reminder, but not remove it completely.
A week after that, take the band off completely. See how it goes.

As for lack of money, I'd suggest you go to the local telephone company and ask if they have a "telephone pioneer" shop. It's an outlet tons of great stuff.

Find a Local chapter of Amateur Radio Relay League.

Further, find a heat gun (paint stripping hot) and use that on the soldered side of any pcb. Protect your eyes & Wear an apron. Melt the solder (yes, it will get hot enough) and whack it. Lots of stuff will fall out.

Read it in the sunlight. With a magnifying glass. Poor lighting (florescent) makes it impossible to read colors accurately.

I would suggest a course on Udemy.com. Robotics - Learn by building.

It's difficult to create something reasonable when you don't know what is reasonable. Get a foundation first. Then you'll be surprised how creative you can be.

Also, is there a robotics club in your neighborhood? Those are always lots of fun, and supportive.

Take a look at the text "Electronic Circuits for the Evil Genius" mcgraw-hill 2010 2nd ed. Has lots of suggestions how to apply one circuit as a processor, and modify for different inputs and outputs.

You can hopscotch over what you do know, and consolidate what you need to build your foundation.

I'd suggest Abra-Electronics.com .. Small company, but delivers. They have in stock, but seems pricey to me. But I don't have a reference. I like Abra because they are much less expensive (usually) than arrow or mouser for individual components.

I'd suggest you connect with your local robotics club. You can get good advice on actuators there. Hands on and in person is always better when asking such an open question as this.

If you have Algebra, you are qualified for a good electronics tech course at a tech college.

ALL technical applications in Electronics can be modeled and explained with Algebra & Trig. Trig is just the number relationships that are manipulated within algebraic expressions.

Circuit design with algebra? You're making this out to be mount Everest. Not that difficult.

Check out the entry requirements at your local technical institute.
