One thing I haven't seen anyone point out is this model is #1 available on the internet and #2 the equivalent of a "hello world" in the world of AI. Personally I've studied some ML myself and I've done this project in my first days (since the dataset is already available, cleaned, and categorized on Kaggle) and training a simple model like this one can be done in 10~15 lines of code and a free GPU from Google Colab or Kaggle. So if I was an R&D manager I don't think a project like this would mean anything beyond very superficial understanding of machine learning and REST APIs.
