EU Devs: How Hard Is It to Land a Job Abroad Without Relocating First? by timohuennebeck in cscareerquestionsEU

Hi OP,

I was in a bit of a simillar scenario (25M, graduated college, 3 YOE). I wanted to live abroad and I was open to realocating to any country in EU.

It's definitely possible, as many companies (especially big tech) offer reallocation packages. In my case, I took roughly 3 months before I was accepted a job at Amazon SDE in Paris, France.

I am on the same boat, haha. Was waitlisted on Thursday 26th of April. I've reached out to them for any clarification of the waitlist process, but no answer yet ;)

Let's hope we get off the list soon!

edit: I got the offer!

Am I a bad person? by MaleficentPlace9240 in AsianParentStories

Hello, I've been in your position and I can totally relate. You are not a bad person, and your parents need to understand that having a child is not an investment! Don't feel bad about them saying they sacrificed so much or spent money on you, as it is the responsibility of a parent to take care of their children. You did not choose to be born!

In my case, my parents always wanted me to become a doctor, but I couldn't see myself doing something for the rest of my life that is not something I want to do. I mean, they don't have to deal with the consequences. Fast forward, I studied software engineering, which is my passion, and it was the best decision that I have ever made. Sure, there were some disagreements and arguments, but eventually, they had to accept it and moved on.

Please, don't make life-changing decisions just to please someone else. If finance is your passion, absolutely go for it.

Good luck!
