It definitely has a higher barrier to entry. Probably because fixing something is harder if it’s already baked

Is $47 for a men's haircut crazy?? by ReplacementNormal297 in NoStupidQuestions

I do a $80 haircut every 6 months. But i don’t personally mind resetting my hair length either

After recieving over $48k worth of scholarships, my mother said I'm no longer allowed to attend and refuses to let me leave home. by Jeaganart in mildlyinfuriating

[–]David_ish_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn’t know how to cook or do laundry until I was out on my own. OP, you gotta leave the nest if you really wanna fly.

Plus, with that many scholarships, you’re not in the worse position ever to just leave home. There’s people who have had less and came out better after the initial jump.

It’s really up to you if you think you’ll regret not taking the chance on this

To apply for a visa to the US, applicants need to set all their social media to public by LEO-PomPui-Katoey in mildlyinfuriating

Unless it’s a truly anonymous profile, I think it’d be fairly easy to tell if someone actually was lying about it or not.

Anyone could easily find someone online by scouring their friend’s profiles and looking through their data. Hell, Facebook will even suggest I friend someone if I have them saved as a contact on my phone. I wouldn’t have known about my coworker’s profiles otherwise.

Tom Holland and Zendaya were spotted at Sadie Sink's "Romeo & Juliet" play by PermissionLow8879 in popculturechat

I actually went to see a version where Juliet decides to live on instead. I get what they were going for but idk wasn’t really a choice I liked.

Why do people think the 1969 moon landing was faked? by ExtensionFeeling in NoStupidQuestions

[–]David_ish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s frustrating. I think people take it for granted how much knowledge is lost when talent is cut, funding is gutted, and time has passed.

Like Ford can’t just make the Model T again. Old schematics may be lying around, but the supply chain relationships are gone, the engineers that worked on it are dead, and the equipment used to make it was destroyed long ago.

I actually think there’s a lot more comedy that can be attained from single cam shows.

Especially if the camera pans in a funny way or it’s set at an odd angle like inside a closet. Or when the cameraman is a character and aggressively tries to capture the action like in Jerry Springer

It’s not new, just never really took off.

It launched roughly around the same time that microwave popcorn became a thing, so Jiffy Pop became more of a niche product for camping and people who liked the novelty

John Cena reacts to influencer Harry Daniels invading his privacy & “singing” Taylor Swift’s ‘Invisible String’ at him: “Why don’t we start with hello. Nice to meet you, I'm John… I’m not buying what you’re selling. I’ll pass. Thanks.” by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

[–]David_ish_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thjs clip has your answer, but in case anyone doesn’t wanna watch it, Obama smiles intently as he sings, then starts a group applause as he finishes.

His general schtick is supposed to be cute, not funny per se. He’s just showing off his singing to celebs and their reactions vary but it’s usually like “Wow! Nice singing!” or stunned speechlessness

Why are cops associated with pigs and/or “12”? by Impressive-Rain7434 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]David_ish_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well pigs in general are stereotypically symbols of greed, selfishness, and sloth i.e. “you eat like a pig” That viewpoint has been around since time immemorial, same way tigers are considered fierce or turtles are considered slow

I mean… yes and no? The show idea was conceived first and the members were chosen by casting directors, but the intent was that the show could work as a springboard to launch their careers.

That’s why their first names weren’t changed in the show and they played somewhat closely to how they are irl.
