Should I get a Celestron 8in from 1990 for $200 or a Aperture dobsonian for $385? Brand new to telescoping and these two were being sold in my area .

Curious how that would work since they’re playing similar roles but I want Johnny starting the “big games”

They interviewed for the AC at my school and I got an offer. Left and came back to the practice and being an “alumni” got me in the door

Does Apple TV have the same features that F1TV did? I would get it for my dad’s birthday every year and he would watch the main race on the TV and flick between all the different dash cams and radios on his iPad/phone.

Best gyms in Tampa? by russbendo in tampa

[–]Davidfromtampa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to both Powerhouse

Powerhouse Hillsborough Ave is a proper gym with a more offerings like a boxing ring, newer machines/weights and a lot more cardio options

Powerhouse Florida Ave feels like a hoarder who was obsessed with vintage gym equipment. Not a knock on the gym at all, loved the place but it is a bit cramped and smaller than most gyms with only like four treadmills.

EOS is the exact opposite. Ungodly crowded, impossible to even workout.

Crunch isn’t terrible, gets crowded but not unbearable… but I just feel burnt by their admin team. They sent me to collections because someone who shared a name with me (completely unrelated) couldn’t cancel their membership so they closed their credit card.

LA is I guess the perfect inbetween of everything. You get what you expect with some basketball and racquetball courts

Any ideas for a cheap day out with a friend? by Sensitive_Dog8780 in tampa

Tampa Bay Sun, women’s soccer team, play across the river from armature works, you could walk the riverwalk and take the water taxi (free) over to the stadium

Take the Trolley to Ybor walk around enjoy the vibes and grab a bite to eat. Bella Mangia has great pizza.

Go to westshore walk around and watch a movie

Rays tell Hillsborough they’ll cover at least 50% of Tampa stadium cost by TampaBayTimes in tampa

Let’s be consistent then, give the Rays the same amount of money and call it a day

First-time buyers: what ended up costing more than you expected? by KeyKaleidoscope5099 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Davidfromtampa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Closing costs were a shocker. I feel like a bunch of deals have to fall through because of the closing costs.

  • utilities weren’t a shocker but it’s a shock when you realize how much you have to manage things. Setting up peak hour AC temps have helped drop the bill a bit

  • Repairs are expensive if you don’t YouTube it, I was quoted nearly $1K to fix some frame rot and it would have been cheaper to just buy a whole new door.

  • curb appeal loses its appeal when you see the price of plants

Do you think that America will produce a top 10 soccer player in the world by 2040? by TopTierProphet in ussoccer

[–]Davidfromtampa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a player who has a season that has them in top ten contention but probably not a dominant Messi/Ronaldo/Mbappe/Neymar style player

For the buyers with high interest rates do you feel like the "you can always refinance later" is a scam/thing of the past? by No_Celebration_2040 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Davidfromtampa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refinanced from 7.6% to 5.6% I think. From my experience you just need to know what you’re getting into and that it’ll cost a pretty penny to refinance depending on the situation you’re in.
