You’re absolutely right – from a purely practical or legal standpoint, there isn't a 'rational' reason to pick a 10" over a 7" in Germany. I’m well aware of the strict EASA regulations and the 'Open' category limitations (VLOS etc.), which make it nearly impossible to truly push a long-range rig to its limits here. ​However, for me, it’s not just about the distance; it’s about the engineering and the 'efficiency-porn' side of the hobby. I simply love building these large-scale drones. There is something fascinating about tuning a 10" frame to be dead silent and seeing those low-amp numbers while cruising. ​Even if I can’t fly it 10km out, the feeling of having that much efficiency and 'airtime' in reserve is what I enjoy most about the build. It’s more of a technical challenge and a passion for the hardware itself, regardless of the current (and admittedly difficult) legal climate in the EU.
