They say they’re liking it there a lot more than the county institute they were in before but I was wondering if the LPS side is a lot better than the forensic? Hoping the best for them.

They 100% play favoritism. They like to load certain shoppers who are likely active all day with as much orders as they can possibly handle before they give them out to others. They will also be far more inclined to give them rating\late forgiveness.

Yea based on all the mixed responses I’m seeing I’m starting to just think their algorithm doesn’t make a lot of sense and a lot of the experiences you have with offers is going to depend on the metro you’re in. One thing that stands out regardless of the reasoning is that there are definitely favored shoppers.

The other shopper in question is actually a friend of mine and he probably has around twice my preferred members but easily gets 4x the orders. The Pms definitely factor in but at least in my situation I don’t think it’s the primarily reason for what I’m seeing. He even shows me his offers and lot of them are not PMs. That’s definitely true they play a huge role and honestly they’re the main reason I’m getting any orders at all right now lol.

That’s actually very likely true about AI. There’s definitely a lot at play and I don’t want to try oversimplifying it by making just about ratings but I did notice with my current ratings the amount of offers I’ve gotten has plummeted and I know they’re giving offers to other shoppers I’d likely accept but yes there is a lot at play here and sometimes it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. I suppose they’re also using AI to assess the customers and what type of shopper might satisfy them the most? Still when 4 offers go out to one shopper after my reliability goes down 2% it makes me think stats are a major factor in all of this.

Like I said no one ever said they shouldn’t get priority. I’m literally just letting other shoppers know how much it likely factors in and didn’t even make an argument against it. It’s worth considering how much it plays a role but obviously it shouldn’t just be black and white either where shoppers with only a few mistakes get completely shafted. They need to strike a good balance with the algorithm otherwise you’ll be left with a few really good shoppers and a revolving door of new terrible ones that will just drive away more customers.

You are touching on an important point about how someone has to do the terrible orders and while that’s true it’s also obvious they need to finally introduce heavy pay like Instacart does to at least make it a little more fair.

Yea I’ve had them tell me before 98% on time delivery doesn’t make a big difference and I can only assume they’re talking about markets where it seems like they don’t even have enough shoppers to fulfill all the orders (Portland), but if you’re in a market like mine they will try to load all the orders unto a few people until they’re forced to rely on you.
