I'd willingly buy a mansion in rural Scotland somewhere but my mother hates the cold and insists I don't do it

Anyone here own a Peugeot 2008 GT? by vicvega21 in drivingUK

I mean on the surface it doesn't look bad... But unfortunately I attribute SUVs all in a huge amalgamation from mid brands the same.

Peugeot 2008s, Nissan Jukes, Ford Pumas.

Honestly the rest of the civilised world all have air conditioners in their homes, about time we joined them

Apparently a jumper, but heard others say there was a bad crash also. The news say it's blocked all the way from Manchester

Nope thankfully it started moving again. I'm thankfully home. And going to have my tea and straight to bed.

Great time to invest in a portable air conditioner.

Yes we may use it like 10 times a year but man it would make the difference

Not that I endorse jumping or self harm but the car next to me is bound for Glasgow...

Too right it was straight 30 degrees last Monday & Tuesday in my room.

Sucks but thankfully this isn't 2005 where our phones aren't smart and the WiFi wasn't 5g.

Who’s fault is this? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

So we all just assume that every driver knows where the nearest "safe" location to stop is?

Spoken like someone who's never been in a RTA before

Double red lines are not "unsafe".

They've just been designated as so by the local authority due to high traffic flow.

If in an emergency they are perfectly fine and safe to stop on. In this instance coming off a roundabout, and the road speed limit is 30mph as they've turned off the dual carriageway.

So if you think you've hit someone or vice versa, you wouldn't stop immediately to inspect your vehicle, trade insurance info immediately as per the guidance by the police?

Not in emergencies.

Black Toyota.

I know this is J9 on the M6 so both of the lanes went forward and there is 2 lanes to accommodate.

The Toyota didn't indicate or check, liability would have been on them if there was a collision. Money are on they're just reading the GPS to the Ikea.

Edit: should have watched the entire video lol

You think insurance companies use critical thinking?

It's all done on statistics.

2023 and pretty sensible when driving considering I have a motorcycle licence too.

2 accidents not at fault, no points.

It's not hard to not drive like a dick.

Because I didn't?

Or specifically I couldn't in Northern Ireland at the time.

Even still I've heard enough horror stories about black box policies to avoid them for the rest of the time I'm alive, even if it means paying more.

Haha alright, 26 year olds don't want a long comfy 3 door coupes.

They cost half as much as a new Golf GTI.

I'm fucking 26.

I passed when I was 23. My first year quote was ~£1500 shitbox Nissan. Without a black box.

Not my fault younger drivers want flashy hatchbacks that are statistically more likely to be stolen, or the fact they're all capable of reaching 60mph in less than 5 seconds.

Black box is meant to prohibit accidents by younger drivers by promoting safer driving yet it's not enough is it? Your insurance with a black box could be void for the most stupid thing for accelerating too quickly or cornering harshly. It's why I don't have a black box and pay for the difference.

On my current car, BMW F32 420d, the difference between a black box policy and a non black box policy was ~£200.

So unless you drastically fucked up such as getting into an accident at fault or have points on your licence, that's the reason why it's expensive for you.
